Hello Everyone,

I'm getting married in Hawaii this March.

I've never been before.

We'll only be there for a couple of weeks. Any suggestions?

Cheers,

-Jon

LOTS of UU folks live in HI, hopefully some of them can chime in, as well as some of the rest of us haole folks that have been and know how to avoid the tourist traps and seedy areas (dont all places have seedy areas?)

Never been to HI myself, but sounds like a wonderful place for your nuptials.

Congrats, Aloha, and have FUN! :)

Congratulations! Which island are you going to be married on?

Thanks Everyone,

We're still working out the details. But the plans so far are to go to Honolulu.

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage, but you didn’t say which island or where you’ll be staying, what activities you like to do, etc. This might actually help people give feedback. Here are some threads to get you started:

Have fun on your honeymoon, and best wishes for a beautiful life together!

Congrats! Windward (East) side, stopping at Anges’ in Kailua for fresh Malassadas and visit the beach, North Shore to see HMS and Waimea Falls are great. If you see a shrimp truck - STOP!!

Have fun

Sadly Agnes bakery closed itʻs doors this past Sunday. :(

Favorite shrimp truck is Romieʻs in Kahuku (owned by friendʻs ʻohana).

Raised on east side of Oahu but also lived on Big Island and Maui, and also have family on Kauaʻi, and plenty good friends on Molokaʻi and Lanaʻi. That being said I try to get away from urbanized crowded Oʻahu as every chance I get. One thing nice about Oʻahu are itʻs beaches and itʻs mountains. Haleʻakalā and Mauna Kea may be taller but the beauty of the Koʻolau mountains especially the water carved cliffs of Windward Oʻahu cannot be matched. Waikīkī is a fake manmade beach but hard to beat the beauty of Kailua, Waimanalo, and Makaha beaches. Beam about a million people off the island and Oʻahu would be perfect. Favorite drive is along the coast between Lāʻie and Kahaluʻu. Whale season right now so you may get a chance to see them. Allot of great hiking trails, and eateries. Let me know if you need suggestions on these.

Aloha a hui hou, Ahnko
