I have watched this video several times. I know the things to look for. I put the crooked cutting for the last few weeks down to a blunt blade, a not tight enough blade, a not new blade, misaligned top guides and fate. After a particularly wonky cut I decided to fit a new blade and do the full adjustment. After I took the table off I wondered, "Why is there a half inch gap between the blade and the rear thruster bearing?" Then I called myself several varieties of idiot, fool, incompetent and fool.

Everything works fine now.

Been there...done that!

Changed blade size, set guides and forgot rear bearing.
That is why I always do a test cut after a major set-up change.

Right. Each saw blade has an inherent "beam strength." The 1" Woodmaster CT on the big saw has little or no use for guides when tensioned properly. My smaller saw can't tension big enough blades to make guides unnecessary.

Sadly my little domestic grade 8 inch model has the beam strength of wet spaghetti. A decent band saw has been on my wish list for some time.
