I've searched for a thread on this but haven't found one. They look good for what I want: no installation and decent sound. Opinions? experience?

Are you referring to this item https://isolopickups.com/?

First I ever heard of it was by your post here. I am surprised because I am typically up on new tech and it seems this one slipped under the radar for me, so thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Apparently it was a successfully funded Indiegogo campaign.

Lack of discussion here on UU is likely due to both the obscurity of this unit, as well as it being a bit tough to find any vendors with it actually in stock.

I see it on Reverb here: https://reverb.com/shop/isolo-wireless-instrument-microphone

But price of $349 is probably going to put it out of reach of most folks unless you can do a sound demo in person.

Much of the space that this competes against has products like the Mi-Si Air ($169) (discussed previously here - http://forum.ukuleleunderground.com/showthread.php?118165-Exciting-MiSi-Developments), and the iRig Acoustic Stage ($69 on sale frequently direct from IKMM) (discussed previously here - http://forum.ukuleleunderground.com/showthread.php?125196-NEW-iRig-Acoustic-Stage-99), but neither are wireless.

Methinks this device would cater more to those getting paid to perform, who can justify the budget as part of the gear that makes that income possible.

Check out post #55 in the News from 2018 NAMM thread.

I believe the iSolo and Koaloha booths were just coincidentally next to each other at NAMM. But the stick-on pick-up was so cool that the Koaloha guys were impressed. Here's more Ryo and a shot of the iPad that the pick-up was connected to. The guy at iSolo said it would be "much more" than $350. But it sure was cool!

Just heard back from Reverb and the manufacturer:
"Yes iSolo is working on ukulele. This version is for many instruments.
And a new product which is especially for ukulele is going to launch around April. "

They said the violin version is the one shown on the video at the NAAM show. It obviously works but they suggest waiting for the ukulele specific version.
