Can someone guide me to a place in the UK where I can purchase some of that Flourocarbon fishing line used for strings....I'm getting low on my stock of Aquilla strings ..and 95% of customers change the strings as soon as they get the uke anyway..so I'm looking for something less expensive but still sounds good. I believe the sizes I'm looking for are 30lb 40lb 50lb and 60lb breaking strain.

Ken, it seems a shame to change from what you are used to and know works for you. Surely someone will give you a much reduced price for say twenty sets of Aquilas.

If you do buy the Seaguar suggested then you’ll have to pay VAT on import, and of course there’s a chance that it might not be real Seaguar at all (risk as in Baz’s article and its following comments).

If your are happy to cut up the lengths yourself and buy in bulk then perhaps Ken Middleton at Livingwaters might be able to help (http://www.kenmiddleton.co.uk/living-water-strings/), just a thought and his sizes are likely to be better optimised than alternative standard Seaguar.

Good luck.

I went to a fishing tackle shop near me in Lancashire he showed me some line made by this company Berkley , they make 30lb and 40lb .

sorry photo a bit small . I haven't bought any yet i'm waiting to talk to a fellow ukulele player who has bought some and is using it.

Sorry! Was absent for a couple of days and naturally you take that as an excuse for a shopping spree. Are you related to my wife?!

Ken - have a word with Rob Collins at Tinguitar - he strings all his models with Seaguar Blue Label. Think he uses 30,40,50,60 on sopranos.

Sven recomended I use 80lb for the C string but the Seaguar was a bit pricey.:(
I did more research and came up with this on amazon..This is just the job and the price is better than the others i've found with free postage in the UK...and it only took 3 days to arrive.
