Just got back from the opticians..Cataract developing in the left eye .. I had the right eye done last year and now I need the left one fixing..Old age is all fun and games

Will you get to wear an eye patch after the surgery? Good opportunity to wear that full pirate costume for a while.

Hi,
There are several types of “premium” lenses we use in cataract patients. There is a significant up charge for these products . I assess each patient’s needs individually before deciding whether it’s not it is worth it for them to use one of these lenses. If you already had one eye fixed, most likely your surgeon will suggest the same type of implant in your other eye. I do use the specialty lenses and perhaps 5 to 10% of my patients who are anxious to free themselves of reading glasses . A similar result can be made with correcting when eye for mid range vision, which is especially good for those of us read music.
