There are several types of “premium” lenses we use in cataract patients. There is a significant up charge for these products . I assess each patient’s needs individually before deciding whether it’s not it is worth it for them to use one of these lenses. If you already had one eye fixed, most likely your surgeon will suggest the same type of implant in your other eye. I do use the specialty lenses and perhaps 5 to 10% of my patients who are anxious to free themselves of reading glasses . A similar result can be made with correcting when eye for mid range vision, which is especially good for those of us read music.
