1943 wartime Martin Style 0 soprano ukulele. When was the last time you saw a vintage Martin soprano uke with a spruce top? This uke was re-topped by Joel Eckhaus of Earnest Instruments up in Maine, a talented luthier who makes the Stradalele, among other fine instruments. His name is written inside, on the spruce top. Bar frets, tort binding around the top. Original wartime wooden peg tuners were replaced with black Gotoh UPTs by the previous owner. Plenty of saddle showing above bridge, action is a nice 2.5 mm at 12th fret. Sounds and plays great. It has a loud, jangly tone, with big bark, just a bit brighter than a stock mahogany Style 0, with excellent note separation. Great shape for its age, but has some strum wear on the top, near the neck. Strung with Worth Browns, which sound perfect on this uke. Ships in funky vintage chipboard case. Have video available. $425.00 shipped in CONUS only
