Uke built in 1 day-

This is a uke i built in 1 day for my step daughter.
The body is all spruce
Neck is a 4x4 doug fir from Homedepo!
FB is walnut
Bridge is tassy blackwood

Doug fir 4x4.
Staining the spruce.
Simple finish they i had on the shelf.- i ended up shellacking the body.
Hot hide glue for bridge with finger pressure for 5 mins! (normally, i clamp for a few hours at least, usually overnight)...but this was a quick build.
Headstock with burl.

I made up this neck joint (and the body shape) as i went along- no time to plan.
It's a bit like a Weissenborn neck joint

Looks like a Martin Backpacker. With a few refinements (or not), I bet you could sell the heck out of that. How's it sound?

if i did this again, id do a 12 fret to body which would put the bridge in a better position.

I hope that some one sees it and asks you to build another, it looks good and a few more builds would give you chance to hone your design.

Your step-daughter is fortunate to have someone like you as a step-father, and it’s nice that you involved her in the build too; practical hand skills are a wonderful gift to pass onto the next generation.

Perhaps- but i find no joy in large volume, low craft work.
