Is the MM a 20.5 inch scale length and the Larivee 19 inches?
I was wondering that too but the bridge on the Larivee is closer to the floor so I'm pretty sure they are both 20+"

My Gosh! That half step sure made a difference. The boominess is gone. Quite difficult to choose between the two now. Thanks again Hodge.

I wonder what would happen if you tuned up the Larrivée as well...?

Larrivee for me in the original comparison. The MM 'tuned up by a half' sounded really nice and clear picking/fingerstyle - I liked that, but when it came to strumming it seamed to reach it's maximum quickly to my ear, and became a little muddy. I'm no expert, that's just how it came across. :) Great Playing!

I was thinking of the same thing. LOL We are keeping Doc J very busy.

I was wondering about that too. So here's the Larrivee a half step tuned up with Martin strings. https://app.box.com/s/td55iyjap9wxggvr9kexoaj76l2o791v

to compare with the Mya-moe a half-step up in tuning with Mya-moe strings (FC on the trebles).

Compared to itself, I preferred the Larrivee at standard tuning. It's starting to sound "tight" to me tuned up a half step.

What do you think, Hodge?

Eddie, I think you might be right on that. The Larrivee is now back in standard tuning, while I'm keeping the Myamoe tuned a step up.
