Koa wood for the bridge

Hi there,

What do you think about the idea of making a bridge out of Koa ?
I never seen one so there must be a reason (Koa is not very hard)....

...it's just that I could use a really nice piece of Koa that would look very nice...

Traditional Hawaiian ukuleles used to have Koa bridges and fretboards. The use of alternative materials is a fairly recent development.

Koa is very variable. Some is very soft, some hard. A hard piece works well - I've made a couple.
