Yeah, good stuff.

One interesting point that I have noticed is that he usually seems to be playing instruments that are pretty basic rather than high end or custom.

Yeah, who ever heard of Royal brand ukes?

I think he plays Bruko and maybe DaSilva ukes too.

He told me that the Royal brand was just an inexpensive Chinese Martin copy he bought just before the tour. It was a fine, functional uke and sounded alright. His case was pretty funny, he made it out of leftover boat fiberglass bits and epoxy.
