This is definitely my favorite song I've heard on the ukulele. I found a chord sheet for it, but I'm not very musically gifted. I was wondering if anyone could post a video of it. I also just wanted to share it with others, definitely an awesome song. Probably one of my top 10 favorite songs of all time :)

Also, anyone able to translate it for me?

I took a shot at this one a few months back.
It's on my YT channel.

OK, gonna give this one a shot. Much of the lyrics are in English and a few Hawaiian words thrown in . . . First the title; Hokule'a is the Hawaiian name for the star Arcturus. Hoku - star and le'a - joy, happiness, pleasure. Makani means wind and wikiwiki can mean quickly, fast, speedy. A ke ala Tahiti (Ke ala i kahiki - path to Tahiti), I think it was changed for lyrical purposes based on the 1977 Kealaikahiki Project. (If there are any errors, I apologize. Please correct any errors via posts.)

One more tidbit of info, this song was done by the Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau when Iz was still with them and he released a solo version leaving the Sons. It was also covered by Pure Heart. I'm quite sure others have done it also.

If you enjoyed this song, you may also be interested in Hokule'a - A Musical Saga. I think it was released in in 1977 and featured Keli'i Tau'a, David Kauahikaua, Roland Cazimero and other artists. I think it was remastered and released.
