I loved the old Hamm's Beer jingle when I was a tyke and I'd like to play it today. Actually a pretty good little song. It's based on the 1909 popular song "From the Land of Sky Blue Waters" by Charles Wakefield Cadman and the "Dagger Dance" from the 1911 musical "Natoma," music by Victor Herbert. I've struck out so far finding sheet music or chords for either of the original sources, so I'm hoping someone here has puzzled out the jingle chords. Who doesn't love a dancing bear, right?

Here are what I believe to be the original lyrics from the ad agency Campbell-Mithun:

From the Land of Sky Blue Waters,
From the land of pines, lofty balsams,
Comes the beer refreshing,
Hamm's the beer refreshing.

Brewed where nature works her wonders,
Aged for many moons, gently mellowed,
Hamm's the beer refreshing,
Hamm's the beer refreshing.

From across the rippling water,
Through the whispering pines and birches,
Comes the beer refreshing,
Hamm's the beer refreshing.

Comes a call to cool enchantment,
Comes a call to cool refreshment,
Hamm's the beer refreshing,
Hamm's the beer refreshing.

Hints of lakes and sunset breezes,
Dance and sparkle in each glassful,
Hamm's the beer refreshing,
Hamm's the beer refreshing.

It's in 4/4 time, with a strong ONE two three four ONE two three four beat.

Here's a video of an early-ish TV version of the jingle (Youtube)

Help?

I'm hoping someone here has puzzled out the jingle chords.

Chords? Sounds like it's just one chord throughout, actually. :)

Try a C5 (0033).

Thanks! The C5 is just about perfect. Hadn't thought of fifths at all. I still think it needs a hit of something higher at least at the start of each 3rd and 4th line, but you've given me a great place to start.
