I need help deciding...

My local acoustic music shop carries the entire Lanikai Curly Koa line, soprano to baritone. They are all very nice ukes for the price. I own the baritone. As long as someone sets it up properly the Lanikai would be my choice. If I could play the Kala, I would compare the two. Best of luck with the process and final purchase.

when i was looking for a solid wood soprano and concert, i was limited as to what i could buy living in the UK, so could'nt try out the instruments, i plumped for a kala solid mahogany soprano which was a good price and a flamed maple concert which i also thought was reasonably priced, I have to say how pleased i was with both instruments the soprano is a mellow sounding uke though quite loud for its size and the concert has a hell of a punch, now these are not as loud or as nice sounding as say the mainland, but hey you get what you pay for, hope this helps
