    Default Help With Strings

    Hey Fellow Ukerz!

Well I just bought a couple of Aquila Nylgut uke strings cuz I thought they sounded nice hearing them on youtube, but it turns out they aren't that great for me. Just wondering...what type of strings do you all use? Or would recommend that give great sound. Or...what type of uke strings does Jake Shimabukuro use? Lol. Thank you all! =] God bless.

Aquilas on my spruce top tenor. They really sound good when I play I'm Yours.

Worth CL on my Kamaka soprano. They really sound good when I play I'm Yours.

Worth CM on my Mele concert. They really sound good when I play I'm Yours.

Probably the most commonly asked question here. What's tough is that there is no one string that sounds the absolute best. Strings will sound different on every uke. Just keep trying different ones until you find one that you like. You could watch this video

    Aldrine answers this question.
    Rayan, What you are doing?

I give up with my PM box, just email ryan(at)ukuleleunderground.com

Supposedly according to the wording on DAddario's web site Jake influenced the Pro Arte for the Tenor, does he use them wellll.....?

I know I like them on both my Tenors Kala KA-T Mahognay and the Maple/Spruce top.
I have Aquilla's on my KA-Soprano and on some songs I like them and others I can't stand them I have the Green Pack D'Addario's on my other KA-Soprano for the songs I don't like the Aquillas and Next week I am going to try those Kala Red's on it to see what they sound like.

As everyone else is telling you try different strings till you love what you hear.
Ukulele, the most fun I've had being bad at something!!!

There are a number of threads on this topic . . . bottom line as everyone has said; comes down to personal choice . . . there are other threads addressing specific strings also and IMO worth reading. Other string brands (in no particular order): Ko'olau, Hilo, D'Addario, Martin, Worth, Freemont, Kala, LaBella, Kamaka. There are also those members who use guitar sets from D'Addario and Savarez for their instruments.
