There is a very nice Oceana Tenor for sale in my area and need some advice here....

Built in 2009 red cedar and mahogany, made when builder was in
Ecuador. Asking price $850. New today would probably be in the $12-1400 range. Any thoughts out there?

Thanks!

I think you said it best, gonna cost ya more for a similar model. If you've had the chance to play it and you like how it sounds, plays and looks . . . go for it.

Do what my wife suggests. In the case of ukes—and many other things— it has always worked out well.

Tough decision; been considering mostly preowned LoP mahogany tenor, LoP cherry Tenor, LoP koa (ebay) various Ponos (new or 2nds) and etc, etc...
Oh and Ohana sinker redwood tenor...

and...

and...

I've never read anything but praise about Oceanas. But, resale at 850 seems like a lot. You could get a K Brand at about that price and know for sure. I'd offer the seller 700 bucks and see what happens.
