I've finally polished up my app, dubbed Chordious, for creating custom chord diagrams, and have released it to the world! I know there are plenty of apps online to help you make chord diagrams, but mine's free and makes prettier (IMHO) charts.

Features:
  • Outputs to clean, scalable SVG images
  • Configurable styling, including:
    • Diagram height and width
    • Font size and family
    • Number of frets and strings
    • Specify top fret and barres
  • Bulk creating from the command line with Chordious.CLI.exe

Read more about the release here:

Or get straight to some download links here:

Still don't know if this is the right subforum, but since I posted the other here, figured I'd stay consistent. :D

Ok, now back to actually playing an ukulele!

P.S. The app is currently geared to the more technically-abled. I'm still working on a graphical chord designer.

That is totally awesome of you.

For those of us who might want to fiddle with it but have no idea what net 4.0 or mono is, can you give a hint? Is this something anyone can use?

There's a readme and sample input file to explain how to design the chords. The easiest way to get started is to install Mono, for any computer, Mac, Windows, or Linux, from http://www.go-mono.com/mono-downloads/download.html

Then, in a command prompt, go to where you unzipped the program and run it like so:

mono Chordious.CLI.exe sample.txt

However if you're on Windows 7 or higher, the app might just work. Just open a command prompt and in the folder where you unzipped the app, type:

Chordious.CLI.exe sample.txt

If that doesn't work, or if you have an older version of Windows, you can try to update to .NET 4.0 or higher from Windows Update first. Or just make your life easy and install Mono.

I know this is an old thread, but I just found it and had to say, THANK YOU! This little app is exactly what I have been looking for for an easy way to insert chord diagrams into a song. Thank you for your efforts in putting this together. It's great!

I've tried many other applications for chord diagrams and this one is hands down the best. Another big THANK YOU for making this available.
