Original song: "Alpha & Omega"

Hi all,

You can probably tell that I finished a 6 week long translation this week, since I have written two (and recorded three) songs in two days :)

Here is "Alpha & Omega" a song inspired by the Omega Music song contest.

The song is about a mysterious happening on the fells of Cumbria (where I used to often walk as a young man). Who is the mysterious falconer.... and what does his message mean?

"Alpha & Omega"

From Allerdale towards Eden I took the mountain path.
Wrapped up tight against the sleet
And the north wind’s roaring wrath!
Above Derwent Water, I saw a vision sweet
That left all my treasured certainties, completely obsolete.

Like an angel out of Blake he stood, defiant on a rock,
Around him flew a falcon, or some other kind of hawk.
He turned his gaze unto me and I felt a searing heat.
He held me with his glittering eye and then began to speak:

This is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end.
Plotting points along a line looking for a trend.
Searching for a sign that will reveal what fate portends;
A pattern of uncertainty we may not comprehend.

I did not understand his words though they reached into my soul.
I trembled as he pointed; I felt out of control.
I peered into the distance along his line of sight,
Shocked to glimpse the distant hills appearing to ignite.

Flames were rising to the clouds, crimson against their grey.
They seemed to climb to meet me
Like this was the judgement day.
His hair began to stand on end, he then began to chant
His eyes bulged as he shook his fist and let out a whole rant:

CHORUS

I woke upon the hillside alone and freezing cold
The sunlight on the lake below turned the water into gold.
Had I stumbled? Had I fell? Had it all been but a dream?
That falcon and his falconer? What did his riddle mean?

CHORUS

My answer toi the final Question:

the tables never turn in the Feudal Kingdom of Chi
where the War Doms end time has never stopped coming yet, somehow.
