Take her along. It would probably be a nice change for someone to share in your joy of ukulele and you could talk during the drive. Couldn't hurt to ask if she'd mind. You already know how Elaine would react.

Yep. This.

It's interesting to go once. For some reason my son really likes it which means if I get the pass I'll have to suffer through the tour a few more times over summer. He asks questions about the architecture, he counts steps, and he asks questions about outdated appliances and things like that. He's the tour guides best friend :)
uh huh. Yeah, they're paid to be nice. Tip heavily.

Seriously, do it!!!! You may be able to wait, but I can't.

Is Matt into any sports?

Not really, we had a deal that he had to join track when he got the Xbox, but he's doing extra English for Istep after school and has all A's and B's in his classes so I don't want to push it on him. Lately he's started to enjoy reading, which I find amazing since he just learned the language last year.

Rob, this is beautiful! A nice arrangement, with some out of the ordinary chords that aren't very difficult, and just in time for our uke group's Beatles theme next month....

I'm happy to have been of service.

My kids weren't into sports very much. We went the music route. Not in high school (that schools music program sucked) but in elementary and junior high. Wendy was a cheerleader all thru high school. Soccer was a factor when they were little but I made that go away. With three involved I did not want to spend my life on the AYSO field.

In retrospect, when kids are little I think they need to "taste" everything. Rec leagues are a great way to let them try out everything. By junior high, the attitude can start, and they don't wanna do anything, that's when you have to apply the crowbar a bit. By high school they have found their niche and balance can happen as you let them make their own decisions.

Wendy was my only dark child. In junior high she got moody and sullen and started hanging with shitheels. I saw it coming. The summer between 8th and 9th grade I dumped her in Junior Lifeguards (she hated it) and pop warner cheerleading (she love that). She was so busy she didn't have time to even breathe. She got focused on something that got her through a rough time and kept her involved in high school.

The track coach at high school wanted Michael to run but he was soooo intimidated by the track team he didn't persue it. I probably should have pushed more.

Usually on this line:
(D) Something in the (D7) things she (G) shows me

I have played
(D7) Something in the things she (G) shows me

But if you do:
(D(2220)) Something in the ({Three fingers D chord} and then lift you finger on the C string for) (D7(2020)) things she (G) shows me

The D then D7 actually sounds better to me.

Exactly.

He's really into it though. He asks really good questions. Way above what a six year old should ask.

I thought the answer to any question there is, "Because Old Lady Winchester was wackadoodle."

That would be awesome if the tour guide just kept saying that.

When we were on Catalina Island we did a behind the scenes tour of the Casino. About 10 adults and one very precocious 6 year old little girl. She started asking questions. The tour guide was well seasoned, for the entire tour he never stopped talking. There was no room for questions, even from the adults.

Steak class was canceled due to low enrollment. So instead we are going to a benefit concert with cellist Udi Bar David and pianist Keiko Sato.

Why do I get involved in these threads? Many of the same folks who were lecturing Chuck Moore on how to run his business are now lecturing KoAloha on how to run theirs.

BTW, I also notice that the Schoenhut fanatic guy has fallen off the face of the earth.

I hope vacation is going well.
Enjoying the warm weather?

I can't really give you an answer to that one.
It's a cold cruel world out there. Those folks would have me running home to mama crying.

Amusing isn't it.
