Hi all im in the market for a new tenor and have got it down to these 3

2.Eddy Finn EF-7-TE Electro-Acoustic Tenor Mahogany Uke
3.Kala: KA-TEME Exotic Mahogany Tenor Electro-Acoustic Ukulele
im turn between them all, they are all the same price (ish) but the top one comes with a free hard case any help or suggestions please guys my budget is around £150/£200 mark thanks all

I haven't tried any of those. Have you played any of them or just looking up specs on the web? My only advice would make sure that you buy from someone that does a setup first as the action will invariably be too high on these factory ukes.

Lincs lad, try not to buy direct from Amazon or from one of the box shifting guitar emporia - not sure where you have sourced the ukes you like, but I would heartily recommend looking at Omega Musics website as their prices are good, they set up the ukes before they ship them, and free overnight fedex delivery is generally included with their ukes. Eddy Finns are funky ukes- check my review on the concert Bubinga - but are a bit overpriced IMO given the flaws in build quality. Kalas are pretty solid for factory ukes and Omega will ensure a decent set up, plus most of their models come with Aquilas rather than nasty black nylon rubbish. I have a Kala KA-TE which is a nice uke in that price range - being mid-range you will not get a uke like a Pono for that price, unless you get lucky in the used market. There are other uke specialist stores in London and down south, may be worth comparing prices and asking if they do set ups, also if they include shipping.

Don't be entirely swayed by a free case unless all else is equal - you can always buy a nice case later. If the Eddy Finn is being offered with the Eddy Finn tweed hard case, that is generally £45 or so alone. The gig bag is about £20. I tend to buy hard cases for ukes, though.

Kev - know people who play each of those brands and are happy.

I think though you can get and Islander in that price range that I would suggest you look at. Also, never overlook Ohana - I have never played a bad one.

Good advice above re avoiding Amazon - go Southern Ukulele Store or Omega in the UK.
