I love my Ohana CK-35. It's solid mahogany, not fancy, and gives a very sweet sound.

Don't really need a humidifier in humid locations. Grab one of those Pono solid acacias listed on the previous post on this subject just before your's.

Want a great sounding concert for less? I have the cutaway version. Not sure which one I'd get rid of first, my Pono mahogany or my KPK acacia.

A lot of good things being said about Gretsch lately. Supposedly great players and very well made. Maybe check this one out:

And they also have new koa models:

I think I've seen the koa one listed for $399 somewhere, but couldn't remember where. Anyway, I've been thinking about trying one of these soon, based on all the good feedback lately. I would make sure to buy from a dealer that does set-ups. HMS is the best. Get in touch with Andrew and ask him if they will be getting any solid concerts soon.

Good luck!

My Kala SC concert's for sale. I bought this as my second uke. . . and the model was recommended to me by ukeeku as a good 2d uke. Solid spruce top, nice mahogany lam back and sides, good tuners, set up very nicely. Check it out, $120, at the for sale area.

I have a kala walnut concert (lami) just got it and love it.
Anyway if the koa kala is actually full solid koa i'd go for
the koa.
