Fingers crossed, Freeda!

Jon, SNORK!

Band practice tonight. It'll be interesting to have four (nearly solid) hours playing Clara.

Clara sounds very good and has a very nice, clean voice. It's warmer than I expected. But it's not a particularly "woody" sound. Volume is very big which I really like, but playing softly is virtually impossible.

With the low G, some stuff of my arrangements sound wonky. Chord melodies seem to be especially problematic. Lots of missing melody notes.

Look! Drugs have worn off for the moment, so before I go get re-juiced I thought I'd leave a message that shows I still know how to type!

Do you believe?

I'm a Believer
Written by Neil Diamond
Performed by The Monkees

[G] I thought love was [D] only true in [G] fairy tales
[G] Meant for someone [D] else but not for [G] me.
[C] Love was out to [G] get me
[C] That's the way it [G] seemed.
[C] Disappointment [G] haunted all my [D] dreams. [D7]

Chorus
[N.C.] Then I saw her [G] face [C] [G]
Now [C] I'm a be[G]liever [C] [G]
Not a [G] trace [C] [G]
Of [C] doubt in my [G] mind [C] [G]
I'm in [G] love, [C]
I'm a be[G]liever!
I couldn't [F] leave her
If I [D] tried. [D7]

[G] I thought love was [D] more or less a [G] given thing,
[G] Seems the more I [D] gave the less I [G] got
[C] What's the use in [G] trying?
[C] All you get is [G] pain.
[C] When I needed [G] sunshine I got [D] rain. [D7]

Chorus

Verse 1

Chorus

And then I saw her face
And I licked her beaver!

You're welcome!

I get questions about my UU gear every time I wear it . . . which is quite often.

The ONLY time I got a direct comment about my UU shirt was when Aldrine walked up to me and said, "I like that shirt!"
I have had people start talking to me about UU or ask me what my UU handle is while wearing it, but never got questions about UU because of my shirt.

Fingers crossed, Freeda!

I have been playing my Low G Gary Gill so much I played a high G today and it sounded wonky! Takes a bit of getting used to going back and forth for sure!

Learning that Neil Diamond wrote that song kind of ruined it for me. Now I hear it in his voice.

Not the same.

As soon as I learned that Neil Diamond wrote the song, I also immediately heard his voice, and said, "yeah, it fits perfectly, of course he wrote that."

So what's the Niel Diamond deal. People don't like his voice? He did something horrible?

He's easy to make fun of, but perhaps not as easy as, say, Wayne Newton!

I like his songwriting so I have no problem with him. I don't think I would ever go see him in concert though.

*raises hand* I love Neil Diamond! Think of the song a wee bit slower and with that jazzy groove. Neil could knock it out of the park.

Pictures from the "retreat". I say "retreat" because somebody lied. It wasn't a retreat. It was a workshop. I spent most of the day listening to someone present. Only had an hour and a half to retreat. I got 3 CEUs for being there. What am I going to do with CEUs? Very disappointing. I needed a real retreat. (I did buy a Gregorian Chant CD and a book by Richard Rohr.)

The place was lovely, however. I will go back on my own and have a real retreat. I think I will give myself a night or two there as a Christmas present!
