What is circus circus? Like chucky cheese?

Not sure what the one in Reno is like, but I've been to the one in Las Vegas. It is supposedly a "family-oriented" casino hotel, which means it has really overpriced arcade games and circus acts performing throughout the day. It is also jammed full of kids all the time, so if you came to Las Vegas for some adult fun, avoid it like the plague! Sadly, the Las Vegas property is in a poor state of repair (or it least it was the last time I was there a couple of years ago). But with prices sometimes low to the point of absurdity, you get what you pay for.

Good Day Sunshines!

Milwaukee was AMAZING!
A different kind of amazing than Tampa, but AMAZING just the same!

I am EXHAUSTED!

I got 4-5 hours of sleep max every night for 3 nights! I am BEAT! I flew in, got in at 12:30, slept though some epic turbulence on the plane. Everyone was talking about it as we were getting off.
Then had to sleep at a rest stop and slept hard.
Anyway... it is going to take a bit to make up for it.
But the Sideshow was amazing, Milwaukee was amazing, seeing everyone was amazing!

I cant catch up, but hello, and I am glad to be home for a bit!

There's something about the finger snapping that's annoying. My mother used to do that to get the attention of waiters and waitresses. It was obvious to everyone else that they didn't like it, but we couldn't convince Mother of that. She kept doing it, no matter what we said. It seems so....condescending....

Wow, I thought that was only in the movies.

It is.

If you did that or tapped change, beer bottle, knuckles etc. or whistled or anything else deemed annoying you would probably wait a while for a drink because chances are that if you are were rude enough to do that in the first place you weren't going to tip very well anyhow. Funny. But those people always got a short pour too.

That's the downside of the foodservice industry. A lot of people treat you like dirt.

(Not directed at your mother Don. You just brought back all kinds of pet peeves)

. . . and I was I had a baby just so I could get one of those beanies from you. Very Cool!!!

When I want to attract the attention of my server, I watch them to find an opportunity to make eye contact, then smile and raise a finger (my index finger. Get your mind out of the gutter!). It is usually all that is necessary, and the servers seem to think it's okay (at least it never seems to aggravate them)....

As for having a baby and getting one of my hats....ANY poho that has a baby can count on getting a hand-knit Mailman hat, now that I know how to make them....;)

My mother was from a completely different generation, and a completely different mind-set.

She was one of those people that feels "entitled", somehow. My father was a career military officer, which made her an officer's wife. They considered themselves, as a group. to be "better" than the enlisted folks. They had bridge clubs, and dinner parties, and teas where all the women wore dresses, hats, and white gloves.

My parents were also, sadly, quite bigoted. Again, she considered herself better. She believed in a class system, and in no way, at no time, would a black person rise to be in her class. Despite all objections, she forever referred to black men as "boys", and sometimes worse.

She felt privileged, and acted as such. Despite all of that, she was a remarkable woman. She had her faults, but had many, many redeeming qualities. I still miss her....

with gambling too!! Good for people with kids that want to gamble! I think they got rides too!

This is one of the areas where I am a prude. I can't imagine taking kids to a casino or normalizing gambling (or any other addictive behavior).
