Quickly picking one string - misirlou

It's just fast alternate picking. It takes time to develop and can be stubborn. Been working on this for ten years and it's still a bit hit-or-miss.

You need a fingernail (or thumbnail). Actually, I can't say that for sure, but it would seem that you'd blister a "bald" finger in no time with that technique.

Start slow. No faster than eighth notes at 80 BPM: https://www.metronomeonline.com. Down, up, down, up, etc... until it's comfortable (at least 10 seconds). Then incrementally bump up the tempo by 5 BPMs and play until it's comfortable each time. Repeat faster and faster until you mess up, then slow down enough so that it's comfortable again. That's your max speed. Do it every day. Keep track of your improvement and become a tremolo master!

Wow it's more difficult than I thought!
I'm still trying it
Thanks everyone
