Anyone notice that the author wrote Kamaka is the "Martin" of ukulele's, and that Kamaka has been around since the 60's? I thought Martin was the Martin of ukulele's and Kamaka has been around since 1921~!

Actually, it wasn't the author of the article who said that. The article quotes Pete Dods of Easy Music in Hawai'i as saying that. It's possible that the author misquoted or misunderstood Pete Dods (1916 might have sounded to the author like 1960), but the author probably should have done some independent fact-checking. The article is a little sloppy elsewhere, too. It says that Mim "hit on the notation of selling them herself" when the author probably meant to use the word "notion."
