Epiphone Les Paul A-E w/ dGBE strings

Has anyone tried putting the Aquila dGBE tenor strings on one of these? I think it's be neat to have a Les Paul Uke tuned similar to it's guitar counterpart? Has anyone had luck with the Tenor dGBE strings in general? The people I've known to do it always get a tinty sound...
