Just got a Kala U-Bass mahogany.

Has anyone ever tried the Kala thumb rest? - seen here:

http://www.kalabrand.com/ProductPages/U-BassMisc.html

Do they stick well? Even under pressure?
Are they hard plastic or rubber-y textured like the strings?
I like the idea and can even put a set on my guitarròn as well.
Anything else I should know?
Thanks!

I have a Gold Tone GT MicroBass and also bought their clip on thumb rest, but it's so tall that it interferes with me reaching the D and G strings, so I removed it. It looks like the Kala rests are smaller. I might order a set to see how they work.

Oh yeah I just looked at that MicroBass clip on thumb rest and it looks huge. I guess the benefit of Kalas is that you can position where you want and as close to the sound hole as possible. I think I'll give them a whirl.

I grabbed a piece of scrap 6mil black sintra from a sign shop and made my own thumb rest for my Hutch Hutchinson sig U-Bass. It runs the entire length between the end of the fretboard and the bridge, and the 6mil height is perfect as it doesn't sit up too high. I affixed it with double-sided tape, and it holds really, really well.
