 Sorry, just thinking out loud...

I've got some $$$ burning-a-hole in my pocket so my mind started wandering.
Koaloha doesn't make a baritone (have they ever  ) so it wouldn't get under cut by this "little brother" line.
While I love the sound of koa, a baritone is the one scale I think I might actually prefer the tone of sapele.
...Maybe it's just my curiosity of what a baritone-sized musubi sound hole would look like. :)

I have an Opio concert that I like very much. I also have an KCM-00 which of course is koa and the sapelle Opio holds it's own.

We had a thread going a while back about the Opio and Andrew from HMS popped in and said there might be a tenor by Christmas. It is a step in the right direction but as you have pointed out Koaloha not making a baritone model at all means seeing an Opio version is pretty unlikely.

I wonder if the Koaloiha guitarlele is the same size as a baritone.

No, it isn't. It has a tenor body. BTW, the folks who make the Opios in Thailand, also make their own beautiful custom ukes. They can't use the KoAloha patented designs, but I'm reasonably sure they would make you a custom baritone made from sapele.
