What are you guys using to look inside old ukes? That one from Stewmac?

Maybe not "the best" but I just use one like this with a penlight held against the shaft. Light reflects off the mirror and shines into uke.

Depending on where the camera and flash are you might get a few pics with the corner of your cell phone if you can get it in the sound hole. I only mention because you can blow up the images. I expect the small size makes for little coverage though.. I actually got superb HD video of the inside of a guitar last night using my torch app and video setting. I could zoom in on the braces etc while recording and I could see the whole bridge plate, plus zoom in on playback. I LOVE my cell phone!

Found one like this at our local Harbor Freight. No on their webpage. It's narrow enough to fit inside my sopranos, but a little too long @ 2 1/2", but will fit inside bigger bodies. The light is at the bottom and it's narrow enough to swivel...will work for most uses.

Wow, that's awesome. Thanks Timbuck. Here's one on U.S. Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-5-7-10-15...212?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ed5682674

I'm thinking I might want to say "to hell" with those little mirrors.

Just heard back from a seller of those endoscopes who said it won't work with Windows 8.1. Another seller had listed a few Windows systems it would work with, XP, and a few others, but they didn't have Windows 8 or 8.1 listed.

Just found Windows 8 for Dummies, and maybe it can be made to work.

Now that is an even better idea. Are you aware of a similar camera with higher resolution? This one is 640 x 480 which will work but a little more would be great.

Get one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-5-7-10M...ts_ET&var=&hash=item4d225ae220#ht_7695wt_1187 And you see things the right way round instead of a mirror image ..and the resolution is great on the computer screen...And you can look in your pocket with it and see how much money you've got..and down the back of the sofa.;)

I've been using one for a few years now. It comes in handy when a customer drills through a brace installing his own pick up. You can snap a couple of photos to send them!

If I had room, I'd get a decent used computer with Windows XP on it so I could use one of these, in addition to some old video games I like that also won't work on Windows 8.1

SO many instruments have been made over the course (cough!) of 500 years that pretty much every conceivable shape has already been done.
There are some good deals on older laptops which don't take up much space and would run XP comfortably. I still use one to run a scanner that Microsoft decided I should upgrade
