It is probably possible but almost certainly will need different string gauges than the standard tuning. I don't have direct experience with tenor guitars but I think I've seen some charts with scale lengths, pitch, and gauges. Hopefully someone else can provide more specific guidance.
If you have standard guitar strings on it now, tuned DGBE, just capo at the fifth fret and you'll have GCEA. Also handy to know if you play baritone uke and want GCEA tuning.
Agree with this/ was going to say this myself. Just buy regular old guitar strings that are available everywhere. Tune them to DGBE. Capo to the 5th fret if need be. Or forget about transposing and just play your normal chords (works fine if you're playing by yourself).

Absolutely. It is one of the acceptable alternate tunings for a tenor guitar. Here is further info:
GCEA is one of the acceptable alternate tunings for a tenor guitar. Scale length is an issue, especially with nylon strings. This would work better on the shorter scaled ones that are generally only 31 or 32 inches in overall length. Here's another post: http://forum.ukuleleunderground.com/...p/t-28161.html
