Registration is only $10 and includes "all-you-can-eat" workshops, a film festival, an open mic, open & moderated jam sessions. The concluding concert by our guests Victoria Vox and Stuart "Stukulele" Fuchs is only an additional $5. We are also excited to bring back our "Ukulele Petting Zoo" which gives everyone the chance to try out different sizes, makers, and vintages of ukulele.

As an extra incentive, I can announce that we'll also be having Colin Coleman (CoLmes) giving a workshop and performing too!

More info on the Allegheny Ukulele Soirée!

Just wanted to bump the thread and give a little more info about the Soirée! So, as you can see above we're having a bit of a shindig in March! Held at Penn State Altoona, the Allegheny Ukulele Soirée is sure to be a memorable festival.

First up: Our headliner, Victoria Vox!

Victoria has been all over the place, gracing both the front page of the Wall Street Journal and the cover of Ukulele Magazine in January alone! Victoria will teach two workshops and perform at the Soirée concert.

Next up, Stuart Fuchs aka Stukulele!

Stu is known for his ukulele acrobatics, his technical proficiency, and his genuine kindness. Stu will also be giving two workshops and performing.

And to top off our guest list, Colin Coleman!

Those of you who have been on the UU forums for a long time have probably encountered Colin in some form or another. Colin has been in the uke scene for many years, but is just stepping out on his own. Colin will be teaching 1 workshop and opening the concert.

Workshops
We have 15 workshops total available to take at the Soirée; 13 of which are included in your registration fee.

Check out our website for details on the workshops!

Film Series
We will be screening at least three uke documentaries at the Soirée!
  • The Jumping Flea: Tales of the Modern Ukulele
  • Under The Boardwalk: A Ukulele Love Story
  • Jake Shimabukuro: Life on Four Strings

What else is going on?
  • Uke Jams!
  • Open Mic!
  • Ukulele Petting Zoo!
  • Vendors!
  • Raffles!
  • Club Meet & Greet!

We are also having a special raffle/silent auction to benefit the Ukulele Kids Club, a ukulele-focused organization which donates ukuleles to children in need at childrens' hospitals. We will be specifically supporting Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, as it's our "local" hospital.

Registration is only $10 (and the concluding concert is only $5 more!); I hope you'll join us for Pennsylvania's first uke festival in a long time!
