Welcome to the 140th Season of the Ukulele!

As some of you may remember, my wife and I lost our beloved cat, Dexter, to the ravages of time this past summer. The house has felt ever so empty since, that is, until this week. On Monday, we we welcomed three (!) new kittens to the neighborhood: Tink, Bess, and Samuel Beckett.

So, in their honor, this week is all about cats!

Songs will mention some kind of cat in the title or the lyric. Lions and tigers, panthers, etc, accepted. Also accepted are songs by Cat Stevens, Cat Power, John Cougar Mellencamp, or the Stray Cats. Also, songs from the musicals Cats, The Aristocats, and Gay Purr-ee. You get the picture.

Prizes will be strings in the size of your choosing, commemorating the old school catgut strings of yore.

Judging will be, as it ever is in my seasons, based on a combination of singing, playing, setting, spark, and je ne sais quoi.

In a twist for me, multi-tracking is allowed (there are three new cats, after all), but you should know that I tend to like the simple things the best.

Three entries total before you start taking them to the island. I will count the last entry posted as official unless you tell me otherwise. That's the one that will be judged, though they'll all get comments.

Songs should be newly recorded for this season, and it'd be nice if there were a spoken or written acknowledgement to that effect.

Don't worry if someone gets to a song you chose before you. Do it anyway. Duplicates are welcome.

This season runs, as they all do, for eight, count 'em, eight days: Sunday October 19 - Sunday October 26. For those of you who tend not to stick around till that second Sunday, a lot of good stuff gets posted that day, generally. You're missing out. But so:

Sunday October 19 12:01am Hawaiian - Sunday October 26 11:59pm Hawaiian.

Oh, hey, also, I picked up this week last minute, which I was happy to do. But Monday is a big day for me, so I may not get to commenting between Sunday and Tuesday. Just so you know. Hey old timers, remember the days when there was no commenting at all till the end of the season? In the days of 25-30 entries total per season? Neither here, nor there, I suppose.

All right, cats and kittens... Away we go.

Here's the playlist (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7sm323xQS8x_VPO5kuyVwzAal4gSwF0t).

And the Littermates (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7sm323xQS8yLzVCBzRevB89PSKwcCkJx).

How purrrrrfect! I just wrote a song about my cat for "Pet Sounds" a few weeks back, but then didn't get to make the video.

Might just go do it right now ... and then of course click "post" right at midnight Hawaii time ... see if I can beat Pa to the punch for once.

Oh, this is going to be so much fun! I can think of a certain duo who ought to be all over this ... with some cats in their name. Oh ... or we can cover us some We Tigers originals, hey?

I just saw that Kliban cartoon at the end of your video. I actually sing that as a round ... to the tune of the very lovely "Hava Nashira". Super fun. (Of course if we're going to do it, I will need to add some uke to it.) Oh ... and of course it's a 3-cat round.

Your kittens are adorable. I hope we get to see more of them during the week. Great theme, Matty!

Got asked in a PM if Cats in the Cradle and What's New Pussycat were allowed since they are not specifically about cats. They are good. Any mention will do. I'd be surprised to not see either one of them this week.

Cats. Grrrrrrrreat. We have two black cats. I'll have to try & video them.

I have a an unrecorded* song from S139 that will also work for S140. I probably won't get time to do it for S139 so I'll hold it over.

You have three new kittens.

I had an 18-year-old formerly feral leash-walking cat who, toward the end, was blind, ailing, and had lost more than half her weight ... yet loved life, and saved her best adventures for her last few years and months.

She was an amazing kitty ... and this is her story.

So grateful for a second chance to make this video ... I wrote the song for "Pet Sounds" a few weeks back, but hadn't managed to record it.

You can't see it in the thumbnail, but hopefully you can in the video ... I am wearing cat ears.

EDIT: Unless I say otherwise later on, this will be my official entry.

On My Way a song by Australian Ska band CAT EMPIRE
Had another go with the upright bass and it's been given a liberal dose of pa I'm afraid.

Here's a terrific song I'd love to see one of the women do. I think Lynda would do an amazing job of it.

I discovered it for reggae week (http://youtu.be/AreOBBtetU0) - it's become a staple for me at jams and music parties ... easy repetitive chords (3 of 'em), and a very singable chorus repeated many times, so everyone can play and sing along. Some of us have renamed our jam group's occasional all-female jam Lioness Jam, inspired by this song.

Chart is here (https://www.dropbox.com/s/4h02wqad411ml5r/Lioness%20on%20the%20Rise%20%20-%20%20Queen%20Ifrica.pdf), so you don't have to reinvent the wheel.

Yeah, baby. I'm not even gonna tell you how early I got up to pull that off. It's still totally dark out even now.

I will tell you I did the video in one take ... but I wrote the song 4+ weeks ago for "Pet Sounds" and have been playing it ever since and did not get a chance to video it back then. So it's been ready for a while, awaiting the right theme.

Pretty much can't get any righter than this one, so I was motivated!

I think I am going to do all three this morning! I'm inspired, I'm camera ready, I have cat ears on ... so why not?

This is a fun round I have performed many times a-cappella with various assembled groups of friends. But this is Seasons of the Ukulele, not Seasons of the a-cappella round ... and I have no friends here early on a Sunday morning. So I have done it as a uke song.

The lyrics are from the very same Kliban cat cartoon that Matty posted at the end of his intro video for the Season.

Maybe later I'll get a group together and do it that way ... or multi-track it, if I get really ambitious. It's really fun as a round ... and based on "Hava Nashira", which is actually quite a lovely delicate thing of beauty ... though you'd never guess that from this:

Oh noes! Of all the seasons for me to miss!

I'm in the Detroit airport right now, en route to a conference in South Korea, at which, among other things, I'm co-organizing a workshop that will be bringing together an international group of prominent and emerging scholars to develop a cross-disciplinary research programme on internet cats! (details here (http://ir15.aoir.org/?page_id=128), if anyone wants them.)

I'll be gone all week, so boo! Oh well.

Here's a cat song I recorded a long time ago. I shared this for pet sounds, but it's the only way I can participate this season, so I'm sharing it again! Hope to find time to at least listen to a few this week.

So I went to make a chart for the "Mousies" round, before I forget the chords ... and I wanted to properly credit the composer of the tune, and realized I didn't know. Turns out it's a fascinating story!

So ... the first time I heard this round, I recognized the lyrics immediately from the B. Kliban cartoon from the '70's ... the one MattyDee posted at the end of his intro video. I'd always thought it was one of the funniest cartoons ever ... and the very classical sounding tune made the musical version even funnier.

Years later, I attended an a-cappella performance at the local high school ... and a soft-voiced group of girls sang an exquisitely beautiful round, "Hava Nashira". (The words were "Hava Nashira, Shir Halleluia" - Hebrew words "Let us sing, sing Hallelujah" - repeated three times.)

I wondered why it sounded familiar to me ... and then I realized ... it's the Mousie round! Clearly someone had taken this beautiful round and set Kliban's silly cartoon words to it ... brilliantly clever.

I never thought more about it until today, when I wondered who had written THAT.

Never occurred to me it doesn't sound at all like a typical Hebrew song.

Turns out it was written by Johannes Ockeghem in the 1400's! (http://shkrobius.livejournal.com/213133.html) And in 1510 became the first known commercial jingle ... for liquor made by Benedictine monks! And then a drinking song! And then ... I have no idea when ... the "Hava Nashira" words got set to it. And then the Kliban words.

I'm not sure how true all this is ... there are very few references to it online. But fascinating if true.

I completely understand. Must be a lot of cooking going on this weekend, because someone came into the room while I was making the video and cut some onions here too.

Yes, indeed. I'm sure that must have been it.

Same thing happened to Liz, apparently. And a friend who commented on it on Facebook. Though he mentioned a big waterfall between Ontario and New York. But I think onions would explain it.

THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY - because it was not made for this Season. But I think the cat lovers here will enjoy it, if you don't know it already. It's my song about poor Caspar being sent down to the vet for the "nip". I always used to introduce this as "the song they left out of The Aristocats" / I can really imagine Thomas O'Malley, Scat Cat and the gang grooving along to this one. This also has a very rare Berni Kazoo solo!

Feral cats are a huge environmental problem in Australia.
They, along with foxes (and rabbits) have been responsible for the highest number of mammal extinctions of any other continent.
In a hope to reintroduce some very endangered species of birds and small mammals they completely fenced off the Peron Pennisula in WA.
They then proceded to bait and systematically trap all the feral cats and foxes that lived there. This took many years and is on going.
At the only road gate they have a system of grids and if any movement is detected the "gate" barks loudly in the hope of deterring entry by said cats and foxes.
You may have heard of this place as they have daily visits by wild dolphins (well they feed them) at Monkey Mia (on Shark Bay and on the penninsula).
(I've been there and they chose me to feed one of the dolphins.)
Here is a vid of the barking gate (not mine) - the gate is on the last 20 seconds or so.

Are there any Meowing gates?

Sorry Matty - no more from me on this subject - but I do think the efforts in WA and the barking gate were worth a mention.
BTW Cat Empire have a very catty logo and their album covers are worth checking out for their often very catty artwork.

All further posts will be in song - I have two more right?

We're off to a great start!

UkeCan1 Walking My Kitty - UkeCan1: A sweet song for a sweet friend, Wendy, and a shining example of one of the reasons we make art -- sharing a true emotional response with others. Thanks for sharing it with us, and kicking off the week. My Dexter was 18, too, when he went on to his next assignment. A good long run.

pabrizzer - On My Way - The Cat Empire: The bass sounds good on this, Brian, and is a nice foundation for the baritones uke and voice. Your playing is always so clean, and matched perfectly to your gravelly voice. Just listened to the original, too... I love your stripped down version, though I could have used a little mouth trumpet ;)

BirdsEyeViewOfMyUke - Cool For Cats - Squeeze: Real nice, Lynda. Jumping into the head voice in the chorus is sweet, and the driving strum on that plinky little soprano is just the right accompaniment. I wasn't familiar with this song, as Squeeze were never as well known here as over there. We really only heard Tempted and pulling mussels from a shell... I really like this one.

xommen - An Cat Dubh - U2: Nice strum, Wim! ANd it's well balanced against the fingerpicked parts. Pulling us into the way-back machine for this U2 tune. I like the video effect you're working here, as well.

UkeCan1 - Love To Eat Them Mousies - Kliban/Trad.: Awesome. Love it. It doesn't even need to be a round for me -- I like it just as a little catch.

weegingayin - Guide Cats For The Blind - Barker/Wee: Wow, I loved this. Fantastic little tune to set those words to. I wasn't familiar with the poem before, so I'm so glad you decided to do this. And I love the style with which you played it. Speeding up a tiny bit with each verse is fantastic. Of course, you always have style in spades...

UkeFoote - Walking My Cat Named Dog - Norma Tanega: Fantastic, Brian. Sweet song, beautifully played. You're so smooth with that picking, and your vocals are like velvet. One thing -- I think you're recording in mono, because listening with headphones, I'm only getting the left channel... you might look into your settings so that you get stereo output. Other than that tiny technical thing -- great!

Ukuleites - Stray Cat Strut - Stray Cats: It. Is. On! Loved this from beginning to end. The intro, the bass solo, the snapping, Steffan's backup vocal, but Miri - your vocal after the solo was on fire. I knew we would get this song -- I'm so glad you guys brought it to the party!

Harry122 - I Really Don't Like Cats - Randy McSorley: I have to say, I assumed we'd get a song or two like this this week. A lot of people share your view -- take solace in that. Plus, you have a great little song here, misguided as it may be ;). Seriously, it's a fun rhyming exercise, and the bridge is really lovely. Well done.

UkeFoote - I've Got A Tiger By The Tail - Buck Owens: Another strong one, here, Brian. The harmony sounds great, and the play is smooth -- lead, rhythm, and bass. Your lead vocal is real nice too. Well done.

Oh well.

Amazing. Serendipity. There is a lot of time spent with Internet cats in my house. But you didn't bring a uke to Korea? Oh, noes, indeed.

Wow...

I think this might be the season where I finally throw my hat into the ring.

Assuming nobody minds me taking the Tiger Rag, that is...

Please do. Even if someone else does it, duplicates are welcome.

Feral cats are a huge environmental problem in Australia.
They, along with foxes (and rabbits) have been responsible for the highest number of mammal extinctions of any other continent.

Sorry Matty - no more from me on this subject - but I do think the efforts in WA and the barking gate were worth a mention.
BTW Cat Empire have a very catty logo and their album covers are worth checking out for their often very catty artwork.

All further posts will be in song - I have two more right?

I'm well aware of the dangers domestic cats pose to a fragile ecosystem. My cats live indoors and never venture outside. As I said to Randy, too, I also know that there are plenty of folks out there who have visceral reactions against cats. I feel their lives are somewhat sadder as a result, but I don't criticize.

But so, yes, you get two more -- and you should let me know which one is the keeper.

Bummer

I got my Risa solid uke out today and was trying out some effects when my Vox effects unit packed in. It started playing up and I thought the batteries were going so I changed them. When I tried to switch it on, nothing. I checked I had polarities right (I had) and then tried two more sets of batteries. Still nothing. No sign of life at all. So, instead of making a seasons video, I spent the evening looking up effects units and watching You Tube reviews and I've ordered a new one - different brand but it looks like it'll be a while before it arrives. I have another unit but it's not as good as the Vox though at least it's working or I do have some single effect pedals which could do the job. I like the multi effects units, though as you can set up a sound then save it for future use.

Do you have the manual? Does it mention an internal fuse? If it's the ToneLab EX, has the valve (12AX7) gone? In any case, see if you can't get the cover off, and have a look-see - or find a man who can? Good luck :)

Clearly you have not yet seen Rob's "Guide Cats for the Blind" (http://youtu.be/3mwYj2oMkjw). :)

I've lived in Australia ... much of that time in the desert where the ferals were a major problem. (You left out camels and cane toads.) So I've seen the destruction they could wreak.

I never got a cat there as a pet ... I love them, but loose pets destroying the environment is a serious problem there. I did end up with a cat for a while ... a stray I took in and got "off the streets" and into a home. He lived a good long happy life with a friend after I left.

My two cats here (the one I wrote the song about, and her sister who's mentioned in the song) were feral kittens I rescued and tamed.

It's a tough thing, it seemed to me, for an Aussie cat lover to reconcile those two conflicting interests. Of course we are all responsible cat owners and keep our pets indoors ... but there's always a danger, and there are still way too many getting out in one way or another and going feral. It's an issue here, but a much smaller one. Cats are terrific pets, those of us who love them love them ... and ....

I do have the manual so I'll have a look. It's a Stomplab IG, an inexpensive one. I was just getting used to programming my own sounds as I wasn't happy with most of the built in ones. If I can fix it, having two will give me a backup. Overall I've been pretty happy with it up till now.

Edit to say I've checked the manual and I did the checks it said - basically check the battery polarity. Also the display didn't dim which they give as the sign of a failing battery but started giving false readings when I made adjustments so I suspect a component may have gone. I also did a visual check of the leads from the batteries to the unit and they looked OK, so I don't think it's a dry joint.

I'll get I touch with the shop where I bought it & see what they say though it's well out of warranty & I suspect the cost of repair, if it's possible may well be more than the unit cost.

Petrouchka please don't cry, come and dance, move your blond braids, your kitten will come back, he is playing Punchinello in the shirts of your grand father
Chorus*: As long the dove is singing over the roof, dance before the night comes, pretty Petrouchka
Petrouchka please don't cry, take your coat and come with us in the valley, your kitten will come back, he is jumping four somersaults like a marionette as soon as you go away.
Chorus
Petrouchka please don't cry, he love music, so sing him this magic song, your kitten will come back, and perhaps he will dance for us, on the window sill, a mazurka.

Great theme this week Matt. I have not participated in awhile due to time constraints, but am planning to this week if I can carve out some time this weekend. This is something my husband and I did last month; Morning Has Broken, done by many, but probably the most popular version was done by Cat Stevens… My husband sang and put together a slide show of some of my art ukes while I played…. This is not my entry, as I have another song in mind to try.

Here is an old song of mine from 1985. I had to rework a couple of lines to fit the new era in which we now live. One due to bad news - the Caspian Tiger mentioned in the original is no longer on the endangered list.... it's extinct! :( - But also because the Koala - which was on the list in 1985 - has thrived (helps being cute) and is now merely threatened. So, I still got to mention two cats which are on the endangered species list - so that makes it a valid entry ;)

http://youtu.be/WFoQUxU3O0Y

Endangered Species F C G

G F G
Everyone knows the fate of the dodo,
F G
Living in peace till the white sailors came;
Dm Am G
Hunted for food and hunted for pleasure,
Dm G
Till all that remained was the dodo's name.
Dm Am G
And did we learn from that bird’s sad story?
Dm Am G
Did we agree it won't happen again?
F G
Look out at nature, fast disappearing,
F C G
Testament to the folly of men.

G Am F G
Gone, gone, extinctions for ever!
Am F G
Gone, gone, what we cannot replace!
Am F G
Gone, gone, such vast potential,
Dm Am G
Lost to the greed of the human race;
Dm Am G
Short-sighted greed of the human race.

Without a thought, we chop down a forest,
Home to a million creatures and plants.
Without a thought, we drain the wetlands,
Or pave over vital habitats.
Must we remain believers in progress,
Blind to defects in the methods employed?
Can we not see the Earth is in danger?
The balance of nature is being destroyed. CHORUS

Siberian Tigers and Gila monsters,
Jaguars and the bowhead whale,
Are but a few who are close to extinction,
But there are thousands, we've never named.
I've heard it said, that in a few decades,
Half of the wildlife on earth will be gone.
Now is the time to act to forestall it,
No use then crying "What have we done?" CHORUS

PS All those stray chords should be over the last word on the line.

JazzbanjoRex - Year Of The Cat - Al Stewart: Nicely done, Rex. I love that CM7 - Bm7 - G progression. You play it so smoothly, and your vocals are perfect for this. Also -- not sure if that's a different angle or a different room altogether, but I love the new space.

Uke4ia - The Mouse Police Never Sleeps - Jethro Tull: Great song choice! The crunch really works in those solos, which are great. Just as I was lamenting the lack of flute, in came the solo. Your vocals are well restrained here, too -- not fighting with the overdrive. I wish the camera was in better focus, but hey, great job.

koadependent - Lovecats - The Cure: Another song I would have been surprised not to hear. This is a nice arrangement, Brian -- the melody picking is nice, and jumping up into second position is great. Vocals are good too - nice to hear a bit more baritone when we're used to Robert Smith. Well done.

krabbers - Vegetarian Cat Food Blues - Krabbers: Seems fresh to me... is the recording old and just put into a new frame and re-uploaded? Anyway, I loved the end, but had fun the whole way through. Great.

UkeVal - Polka l'Harmonica - Trad.: Beautifully played, and with a special guest star, no less. Glad to have you back around, Val.

Joko - Wild World - Cat Stevens: Some signature Joko style here. You come into those choruses really nicely. And going into the break was great too!. Love the way you stick with it, too! Thanks for bringing this one!

pabrizzer - Nashville Cats - The Lovin' Spoonful: Nice take on this Brian. I really like the banjolele -- the spareness of it makes the song a little better, I think.

barbablanca - The Tyger - Blake/Armstrong: Great! I was filling it out with a full rock kit in my brain. I'd love to hear this electrified, though your acoustic play is really nice here. Well put together, and well sung, too. Do you have the progression written out?

UkeVal - Old Gray Cat - Trad.: I love the way those reels sound on the uke. Beautifully played. And the Glyph sounds wonderful.

UkeVal - Petroushka - Trad.: A lovely song. That Martin sounds wonderful under your confident play. Nice to hear you sing, for once, as well. Well done, indeed.

This really got to me as I have lost so many creatures over a lifetime. Almost lost my ol' doggie last night. She stopped breathing. Some instinct told me to check on her and before I knew it I was giving her mouth to nose. It took about 10 minutes (but only 2 puffs) to get her to come back around. Seems good today. She's just so old now ): Plus this song reminded me of when I lost my parrot of 20 years recently. I happened to be practicing the song "When She Loved Me" from Toy Story for an open mic. She had suddenly passed on without warning (liver and kidney failure). Two days after was the open mic, I thought, I can do this........no I couldn't, cried right in the middle of the song. Kind of embarassing (; Great job Wendy!

You have three new kittens.

I had an 18-year-old formerly feral leash-walking cat who, toward the end, was blind, ailing, and had lost more than half her weight ... yet loved life, and saved her best adventures for her last few years and months.

She was an amazing kitty ... and this is her story.

http://youtu.be/2QR6GtQhb6s

So grateful for a second chance to make this video ... I wrote the song for "Pet Sounds" a few weeks back, but hadn't managed to record it.

You can't see it in the thumbnail, but hopefully you can in the video ... I am wearing cat ears.

EDIT: Unless I say otherwise later on, this will be my official entry.

frisbeefred - Cat's In The Cradle - Harry Chapin: Love this song. I grew up with Harry Chapin records playing nearly constantly in the house. I'm so glad you asked if it would be ok to play. More than ok. That Lanikai sounds sweet on the song, and the timbre of your voice is great -- so different than Harry's gravel, but I like the silkiness of yours. The single strums in the last verse are a nice touch.

chrisdeston81 - Everybody Wants To Be A Cat - Disney's The Aristocats: Loved the breathy tone you put on for this, Chris. You make your way through the jazzy progression quite nicely, as well. A good swinging song for the week -- I really want to learn this one, now!

barbablanca - Endangered Species - Berni Armstrong: Great song, Berni. I LOVE the first four lines. I like the way using the pick on the 8 string hardens the strum a bit, matching the tone of the song.

RichM - Cat Scratch Fever - Ted Nugent: Well, this is an amazing arrangement of this tune. I'm glad you fought through illness to bring it. Is that a banjolele or a reso?

lelouden - The Cat Came Back - Fred Penner version: ay! Glad you're feeling better, and glad you brought this one, as this is the song that I've had in my head since coming up with the theme -- although for me, it was the muppets version (sung by Rowlf the dog) that I remembered. I do like that this version uses the Stray Cat Strut progression (or vice versa?) Your smoky vocals sound great on it!

cua94 - Pink Houses - John Cougar Mellencamp: Great song choice -- A little content, a little artist. You're clearly having a good time here, which makes us have a good time. Well done!

First- a protip. Read the challenge before recording...number one is over on the Island, and it is my favorite cat song, but does not mention cats at all.
In the last two years, they all have left us. Charlie- 18. Maude- 17. Mouse- 20. Harold-16. Many of you will remember Mouse as we find that our favorite memories of her are those in which she appeared in all our early videos...miss each and every one of them. Protip #2. Do not get a bunch of cats at the same time just because you have a house.
In any event- needed a song that had lots of mentions of cats...but the one I thought of was not "feline" enough in it's delivery. Fortunately the hoards of young folks I work with have given me a new and exciting virus in which my ears have been completely useless for a week or so. Everything I hear sounds like it is coming through water, which rendered my playing of this tune completely un-recognizable.
New plan- plunkie uke in low G...slow it down...add a little Cloverdale- DONE!
Probably won't see you lot for a bit as there is a baseball contest I must attend to this week...but for now

As you can imagine I won't have much chance to do a video this weekend. So I quickly worked this one out. I actually have a traumatic experience with this song. when I was 14 I was in the School Rock Band. As you can imagine with a project run by the school (although the teacher was pretty cool) we didn't rock at all. End of the year we played a three-song set in front of the school. This was one of the songs. It was awful and it took me a year to live down because I couldn't sing it to save my life. Still can't.

TCK - Lovecats - The Cure: This is great, Dave. I really love this song slowed down with a little TCK magic thrown in. I can see putting this version into my own sets. The low-G really helps "acoustify" the tune, and your laid back delivery is perfect. And actually, I really like the grainy B/W vid on this. Really well done.

CharlotteC - Soft Kitty - The Big Bang Theory: This is great, Charlie! I've never seen The Big Bang Theory, but a different American sitcom also has a little cat song that I love, so I'm glad to learn about this one, too! Your voice is so sweet on this tune -- the perfect lullaby. I hope RAB watches this and plays it for his little one.

RAB11 - Eye of the Tiger - Survivor: So glad you were able to take a bit of time to join us! This song transfers surprisingly well to uke -- I've had it in my repertoire for a few years. Great to hear another take on it. I like the way you do the riff -- that spareness works well in this acoustic version.

Rustyy - Three Cool Cats - Lieber and Stoller: I hadn't heard this song before -- thanks for bringing it, Rusty! Nice steady play, and I love the character voice that happens in the 'dialogue.' Also, that thumb technique for the E chord is pretty fancy. And my cats are certainly cool. Well done.

Weegingayin - Tyger Tyger - Blake/Wee: This is so great, Rob. It sounds like a Tom Waits song. So different than Berni's but just as great.

redpaul1 - Top Cat Theme: Yes! Big band gets the redpaul treatment! I had forgotten about Top Cat (figured people might go for Felix, though). Thanks for reminding me of that lovable scamp. And believe me, with three kittens running around, I definitely looked up the collective noun. Kindle is good, because while they haven't yet burned the house down, it certainly seems within the realm of possibility. I've taken to just calling them a gang of cats.

I hope ya'll aren't tired of William Blake's "Tyger, Tyger" and will welcome one more interpretation of it on the ukulele. A while back I had added "Tyger,Tyger" to accompany Blake's poem, "A Poison Tree" when I was trying to put chords together for it.

Like many I suppose, I first heard Tyger,Tyger after a reading of his poem, "The Lamb" and the contrast of his Songs of Innocence with his Songs of Experience. Putting the Poison Tree and Tyger together caused me to consider a slightly different angle with respect to these two poems, but it also required me to take a few liberties and add a couple of my own verses. (Yes, I've grown too old to have any shame!)

Chords are Dm, Gm, and A7. Blake's original poems and lines are shown within the video. (If anyone cannot understand my added lines and wants them, PM me here on UU.) I hope you enjoy it.

I'm so glad that songs by "Cat" Stevens were considered O.K. for this theme. His song, "If You Want To Sing Out, Sing Out" pretty much sums up my whole approach to singing and strumming on the uke! A bit of a personal anthem I guess. Of course, I am now wondering why I didn't give it a go in SOTU 129 which was "Theme Week." It was probably a better personal fit. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy my attempt at it. BTW, if you have never seen the movie "Harold and Maude" I think you'd really enjoy it. Video quality is poor by today's standards, but well worth watching for both the story and the C.S. songs.)

I thought about doing this for theme week too ... great song. Great movie. Nice cover. Love the "fade out" at the end. We should add this to the songbook for OUC 3.

I do hope someone will do "Smelly Cat". And that one of the Aussies (not me, I'm already working on #3) will do "Nobody's Moggie Now".

Hmmm, do they feed them the cats and foxes? Oooo, bad, bad joke. Guess I'll just go out to the doghouse!

Hey there hepcats

I spent what little free time I've had this week trying to learn this deceptively difficult tune, and looking for a key that I could sing it in.
It's by Robyn Hitchcock, and is one of his first quiet and romantic kind of tunes...The Leopard. The original (http://youtu.be/9zHGk9Nxvmg) is helped along by slide guitar, fretless Bass, a keyboard and backup singers. Mine could use a little help, oh well. It was a good learning song, hard to sing and with an unusual chord progression.

I had a couple of ideas for my next song. I considered "You Can leave Your Cat On" the great Randy Newman song, and "Lion Eyes" by the Eagles. Does anyone have any similar ideas?
In the end I opted for this one, which I hadn't heard before.
I'm sure some of you (most of you?) are familiar with Eric Bogle's anti-war song "No Man's Land" sometimes known as "Willy MacBride", or "The Green Fields Of France". Well, Eric wrote another song called "He's Nobody's Moggy Now", about an unfortunate cat that was hit by a truck. A moggy, of course, is an English name for a cat.
I was going to try "Nobody's Moggy", but I stumbled across this other one which is about Eric's original moggy, but set to the tune of "No Man's Land".

Apologies to all the cat lovers out there

Cats and Dogs by The Head and The Heart, an alt-folk jangle-pop group, which is kinda like toe-tapping modern folk music. Or something.
I like it.
I added one track to the monotonous simple bari strum and was going to try to add some pseudo bass from guitar, and a bit of percussion, but, after several different variations in settings, I couldn't keep YouTube from eating what I tried.
They often do this song paired with another immediately following (Coeur d'Alene).

ddanner - Tyger Tyger/Poison Tree - Danner/Blake: That's a nice driving progression to take us through both pieces, Dennis. Sounds good. Thanks!

ddanner - If You Want To Sing Out - Cat Stevens: Your love of this song really shines through, here, Dennis. And I love the tone of that Kala. This is very nicely done.

erivel (and cave) - Jack and Diane - John Cougar Mellencamp: I had a smile on my face from beginning to end with this thing, guys. First off, great arrangement. I love the harmony playing, I love the way the riff works, and I love the percussion. Second, matching outfits; well played. Third, the end is genius. I was also very excited to get the breakdown in the middle, even if the sung harmony was a little off there. Really, really great job. So. Much. Fun.

lelouden - Sea Of Love - Cat Power: Well, I love this song, and you play and sing it beautifully. Also, that kitten is very cute, so well done, there.

greyghost - Devil Woman - Cliff Richards: I only have very vague memories of this song, but it is a fantastic choice for the season, especially with Halloween approaching. I love it when you bring the RAWK, you are just having so much fun with it, which is infectious. Plus, these tunes on the uke are always so awesome. Well done.

greyghost - Cat People (Putting out the Fire) - David Bowie: I was hopeful we'd get this song. The percussive intro is really great. Plus a little Bowie impression? Yes, please. You do a great job of keeping the rock in your voice when you jump up the octave. Nicely done.

peewee - The Leopard - Robyn Hitchcock: This is gorgeous, Pete. What a lovely song, and really well sung and played despite the couple of hiccups in the break. The bari sounds so luscious. I really, really enjoyed this.

erivel (and cave) - Josieand the Pussycats Theme Song: So great, gents! Amazing how many cartoon cat theme songs there are. Love the fast playing glissandos and the key change! ANd the end seals it again. Great job.

thesillydave - Catdog Theme Song: Whoa. I was not familiar with Catdog. That is a very weird thing. You are the perfect man for this song, though, Dave, with that signature gravel in your voice. And great playing, as always. Your strum is very dynamic. Well done.

thesillydave - Topcat Theme Song: Hoo! A little swinging jazz from the Silly Dave, and with some good hat style, to boot. Great arrangement. Nicely done.

rustyy - No Moggy's Land - Bob Kanefsky: Wow, you guys really take your cat hatred seriously Down Under. You might check to make sure the uke is fully in tune before recording -- I didn't notice it on your last vid, but this one tends to go a bit flat here and again, especially when playing the D chord. I do like the way you keep it stately and anthemic throughout. Not exactly a fitting tribute, some would say, but a tribute all the same. Thanks!

ivantheT and pabrizzer - Sad Lisa - Cat Stevens: Really beautiful, gents. The harmonies are spot on, and the picking is nothing short of lovely. A sweet and sad little song. Thanks.

dickadcock - Cats And Dogs - The Head And The Heart: This is a great song, Dick. I love The Head and the Heart. Its a nice simple vocal you have, there. Well done.
I wish you were able to get the other tracks loaded. If, by chance, you are using garageband and imovie, you have to reimport the movie with the added tracks back into imovie, and export it again from there for it to be in a format Youtube will pull the right sound from. I had the same issue once.

ohmless - Cosmo Says (Candy Says) - Velvet Underground: Oh, man, that just destroyed me. The original song is of course about something completely different, but in this context it becomes devastatingly beautiful, plaintively played and sung. Thanks so much for this one.

Markwo - Everybody Wants To Be A Cat - Disney's The Aristocats: Fantastic arrangement. I love the intro, and particularly love the bridge. Your vocals, as always, are great, and the play here is perfectly swingy and bluesy at the same time. Really great.

I have spent countless hours in the backcountry and on the road in rural California, and have never seen more than pawprints. I bet they've seen me though. I would love to see one...from a distance.

the little guy is a bobcat. I have seen a few of them.

Ah so that is a Bobcat ...cool ...yes I agree with you ...they are smashing ...but as the old song goes "From A Distance" !!...They have five pointy ends you know !! Calvin (as in - and Hobbes )

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20UfFNfrlls

i had so much fun playing the u-bass for my nearly-there RAB collab last week, i thought i'd use it on its own for a vid for the seasons - i've only used it as backing for uke before

now i'm the last person to start a big old off topic debate on a thread

:uhoh:

but how do people feel about u-bass vids for the seasons?

john sargent did a fab u-bass vid for one of my seasons, and i loved it

what do other people think?

more to the point what does matt think?!

if this counts for this week great, if not matt, fair go, either way i reckon i'll keep my first vid, "cool for cats", as my official entry

Johnny Mercer’s lyrics may seem a bit dated, but he did use a verb form of the word “cat”.

Although Ellington and Strayhorn continued to collaborate and create great music for many years after this song, it was the final one of theirs to chart.

Did I miss an explanation of Playlist vs Littermates? Is litter mates like the island? Put your 3 on the playlist and the rest in the crap box?

Yes, you missed the explanation. Littermates are previously made videos that people have been posting. The island is still the island, and anything over three official entries here should be posted there.

In this case, litter refers to feline siblings, not their toilet.

Keep it up gang. Having fun! For those of you who've hit your max, please make sure to let me know if you want something other than your most recent entry to be official. Pa, I got you covered.

erivel - Beth - Kiss: Well, that's just a beautiful arrangement, Eric. And a clever entry loophole as well.

birdseyeviewofmyuke - Cat Black (The Wizard's Song) - T. Rex: Whoa, nicely done with those lyrics. Nice strum on that retro Glam progression. Thanks for this one!

jazzbanjorex - Eye Of The Tiger - Survivor: Nicely done, Rex. Vocals are great. Like the little percussive bits in the riff.

Phluffy The Destroyer - Cats - Barnes and Barnes: Didn't know this song, but it's a sweet one. Nice simple vocal, easily accompanied with a nicely ringing uke. Well done.

TheSillyDave - Della and the Dealer - Hoyt Axton: Didn't know this song, but I like it a lot. I also like watching your right hand -- it only peeks in a little on this vid, but you should think about making sure it's always framed, because it's super fun to watch. Signature tsd vocals. Are you playing a foot tambourine?

pabrizzer - Little Lion Man - Mumford and Sons: So excited to see that you had done this one -- a favorite song of mine of the last few years, done simply, to let the song shine through. I really like the way you did the bridge. Nice.

bigdaddyuker - Lion Sleeps Tonight - The Tokens: Surprised it took this long to hear this song! Nice strum and good clear vocal. Thanks!

ceejay - Lion Sleeps Tonight - The Tokens: Hoo! Great percussive riff to get us started (after the warm-up comedy, of course) -- and nice use of second position chords on the repeats. Nice sleepy vocal, and I love the breakdown into the end. Well done.

birdseyeviewofmyuke - Cat On The Wall - PJ Harvey: If we accept the bari, we accept the bass. And boy do we ever accept this. Great vocal behind a very simple (but very pj) accompaniment. Great job wth this.

dougf - Satin Doll - Ellington/Strayhorn/Mercer: Mmmmmm, so smooth. Love the gliss, and especially the chord melody solo. I like the reverb on the uke, too. Gives it that jazzbox feel. Really well done.

Butchering a cat poem by T. S. Eliot whilst wearing a cat on my head with its price tag still connected.

http://youtu.be/qjGLbRhGRPk

The naming of cats by T. S. Eliot
The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
It isn't just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I'm as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.
First of all, there's the name that the family use daily,
Such as Peter, Augustus, Alonzo or James,
Such as Victor or Jonathan, George or Bill Bailey—
All of them sensible everyday names.
There are fancier names if you think they sound sweeter,
Some for the gentlemen, some for the dames:
Such as Plato, Admetus, Electra, Demeter—
But all of them sensible everyday names.
But I tell you, a cat needs a name that's particular,
A name that's peculiar, and more dignified,
Else how can he keep up his tail perpendicular,
Or spread out his whiskers, or cherish his pride?
Of names of this kind, I can give you a quorum,
Such as Munkustrap, Quaxo, or Coricopat,
Such as Bombalurina, or else Jellylorum-
Names that never belong to more than one cat.
But above and beyond there's still one name left over,
And that is the name that you never will guess;
The name that no human research can discover—
But THE CAT HIMSELF KNOWS, and will never confess.
When you notice a cat in profound meditation,
The reason, I tell you, is always the same:
His mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation
Of the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name:
His ineffable effable Effanineffable
Deep and inscrutable singular Name. -

CeeJay - Tiger Feet - Mud: I love your moves, CeeJay! Looks like it was a fun project. I too am mystified by the last few bars of magical drumming. I wish I could hear the vocal a bit better, but it was lots of fun.

decaturcomp - Strange Stray Cat - Rolling Stones: This is one of my favorite performances from you, Alan. The vocal is really fantastic, and that bari! I love the driving bass line you're able to get out of the 4th string. This is very strong, indeed.

myrnaukulele - Pink Panther Theme - Henry Mancini: I remember the first instrumental I did for a Season was the first Holiday week, and I had grand designs that it would be the start of me learning a lot more instrumentals. It never came to be, but I was so proud of myself for learning and posting that I think it was still a really significant moment in my uke development. I'm so glad you decided to do this one, Myrna. Pink Panther was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid, and Peter Sellers is a huge inspiration to me as an actor, so this is full of resonance for me. Also, that Boat Paddle sounds great! Nicely done!

lelouden - Pink Panther Theme - Henry Mancini: I love the video composition here. I think the hyperspeed is super fun, but I wouldn't mind hearing you play it at tempo. Nice job.

bigdaddyuker - Tiger - Fabian: Nice groowwwwlll! Fun song choice, and an equally fun delivery. Well done!

This has not been the best of seasoning weeks for me. I was busy at the beginning of the week then I got a touch of the dreaded lergy. Nothing serious, you understand but enough to make me feel like I didn't have much energy to do anything - even play ukulele.

I wasn't even feeling all that inspired, either so in desperation I googled 'cat songs' and found this one from the man in black.

http://youtu.be/Cp2YlIQqbcI

The cat that appears twice in the video is Juno. She's a rescue cat and is scared stiff of me even though I've never laid a finger on her - except once to try and get her to the vet for a checkup. We had to give up in the end, we simply could not get her into the carrier.

She's clearly been abused in the past. I had to sneak up very carefully and grab the photo quickly. For all that she's much better than she was and my wife and daughter can now stroke her but it's slow progress.

This is the only one I'll get done this week as I have recorder group tomorrow and my elder daughter arrives with my granddaughter on Sunday to stay for a few days.

Howdy gang and many thanks Matty for hosting this week, well i finally got round to doing two songs today, and this particular song was not on my search radar, i dug an old song book out and for some reason started playing it, the wife looked puzzling at me saying it didnt sound like the original , but she liked it a lot ( so blame her :o ) and then i looked at the title of the song and realised Hey Presto it fitted this weeks theme.

When I saw the theme for this week I immediately thought of "Stray Cat Blues" - But I wasn't sure I'd have the bottle to do it (the lyrics can be read the wrong way today - I think it was a celebration of teenage sexuality in its day. A theme that is almost taboo these days. Plus having a 20 something Jagger inviting a 15 year old to bed doesn't quite have the same creep factor as a 60 year old me). Besides, as you all know, I am not often tempted to do a cover. But I have always loved that song so much that I prepared a "dirty old man" version and waited to see if anyone else would do it. I decided that if no one had done it by Saturday, then I'd post it. Then I saw Alan do it and heaved a sigh of relief. But, in the end, Alan requested to hear my version, so I can't refuse.

So, here is my tongue in cheek version of this famous Stones number from possibly my favourite Stones album "Beggars' Banquet".

weegingayin - The Naming Of Cats - Eliot/Wee: Well you certainly did a better job of this one than Andrew Lloyd Weber, who just had the performers in his mega-musical whisper it rhythmically. I like the little tune, and the playful tone. Well done.

markwo - Sea Of Love - Cat Power: Great haunting version here -- seems to be an exact cross of the original and Cat Power. Well done!

We Tigers - A Dream To Live For - We Tigers: Woohoo! A We Tigers original! Reminds me alot of the Squirrel Nut Zippers, and coming from me, that's a compliment. A sweet little tune, a lovely lyric, and well executed. Very well done!

Tootler - Mean Eyed Cat - Johnny Cash: Glad you were able to put something together this week, Geoff, despite adversity. And what a great song choice! Good driving strum, and a steady vocal. Sweet little cat you have, there, though -- doesn't seem too mean to me.

UkuleleDaveey - Honky Cat - Elton John: I've been waiting for this one all week. Glad you 'discovered' it! The 4th string walkdown is really effective -- nice honkytonk feel on the whole thing, and your vocal is really smooth. Great job!

UkeyDave - I Don't Like Pussy In My Garden - Ukey Dave: A good punk original here. I'd love to have the vocal a little further forward in the mix, and maybe pull the pocket uke down a touch, but the lyric is fun, and the strutting on screen is great. Good job.

UkuleleDaveey - You Can't Housebreak a Tom Cat - Cal Smith: I'm not familiar with this song, but it's a perfect choice, and it seems like a perfect uke tune! Well played and a nice laid back vocal. And you know I love me a little old school uke vibrato to end a song. Thanks for coming to the party Daveey!

barbablanca - Strange Stray Cat - Rolling Stones: That band in a box is really something. The keys really add a lot. This version is a little creepy, to be sure, but the song is so good, that we forgive the singer some, don't we? After all, it's no capital crime (shiver). Anyway, you are certainly having fun, which I love to see. Thanks for doing it.

I don't usually like to post a lot of retreads but, since Matty has cleverly made a section for them on this Season where many of us have posted related songs (thanks Guv'nor) I'll put this one here. It may not have been in the Seasons before but Son Matt (18 years old today!) asked me to play this song with him for a project he created in 10th grade to raise money for the choral program at a school he had previously attended. All of the arrangement was Matt's:

Jolly Good! This is "Hunting Tigers Out in 'Indiah'" by Evans/Damerell/Hargreaves. I know it from the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band version.

I found a solution for my camera not focusing on my new black chair. I just drape a light sweater or towel over the back of the chair, and then the camera focuses just fine. I'd prefer to do most of my videos standing up, but I have no idea how to get the camera to focus properly.

I managed to get a second done.

This one was written and originally recorded by Eddie Cochran in 1958 and was covered by the Stray Cats in 1981. The Stray Cats changed some of the lyrics but the changes can only be broadcast after the 9pm watershed* so I've stuck with the original Eddie Cochran lyrics.

bigdaddyuker - Father And Son - Cat Stevens: A nice heartfelt version of this lovely song. It's great that you take your time with the silences. Well done.

bonesigh - Theme from Kimba The White Lion: So. Many. Cat. Cartoons! A nice jouncy strum to keep up with the fun little lyric. Thanks for bringing this one.

caukulele - Our House - Graham Nash: That's really nice, Denise. The picking sounds so beautiful on the MB, and I like the way it morphs into the strumming in the choruses. Your vocal is very nice as well. Is that an old school TV 2 camera technique you're using there, or was this two takes edited together?

MikeOnTheUke - Morning Has Broken - Cat Stevens: Great guest star appearances! Well done with the key changes. A confident vocal, and a laid back strum. Good job.

Uke4ia - Hunting Tigers Out in India - Evans/Damerell/Hargreaves: This song is amazing. Effective use of the plucked 4th string on the verses juxtaposed with the powerful strum on the chorus. A fun vocal, and a nice little subcontinental solo. Great job!

Tootler - Jeannie Jeannie Jeannie - Stray Cats: Nice vocal, especially going into those yeah yeah yeahs! Fun effects on the uke, and a good old school rock n' roll song. Thanks!

Here is my tune for this season. I hope I posted correctly. I was going to do "Smelly Cats" from Phoebe on Friends, but ran out of time. Oh, well.

dweiglein - The Cat Came Back - Fred Penner: Welcome to the Seasons, Diane! This is a great entry -- good song choice, a solid vocal, and I'm always surprised at how good those little dolphins sound. Really nice job. Hope you'll come back and join us again!

Last one for me , and I think my official one.....unusually ..an original..I used the name Ellie May because it sounded more Bluesy than Tish ...and then discovered that it was more bluesy cos Robert Johnson used it in a song as well:rolleyes: ...but he didn't know the little minx Tish...so it makes us even...

Thanks, Matt, for a Season of feline good times. I love cats!

Earlier in the week, I tried to get The Cure's "The Lovecats" together, but my inner Robert Smith just would not cooperate with me. I guess he was feeling mopier than usual. Thanks, KoaDependent, for the great new uke version.

Lucky for me, my wife loves the music of Cat Power, nom-de-plume of singer-songwriter Chan Marshall. Her most recent record, Sun, has been in our car for months. Here's my favorite song from it...

You know I have da noive. With this mane, how could I not bring the Cowardly Lion to cat Season? I'd hoped to do this last Sunday with my other two, but it's taken me all week to be able to play that riff:

Here's a bonus / littermate - done for Season 141, almost in time for 140 ... with two cats in the yard:

I said so before, but just to be sure: "Walking My Kitty" (http://youtu.be/2QR6GtQhb6s) is my official entry, please, Matt. Terrific Season ... lots of fun!

ksiegel - Overflowing Cat Box Blues - Dr. Jim Robinson: Some really nice play, here, Kurt. The runs and fills are great, and its a really fun song. Thanks for introducing me to it.

CeeJay - Ellie May, What In The World Have You Done? - CeeJay: Two blues numbers in a row! This is great CeeJay -- some very fine play, and a lovely poignant, perfectly bluesy lyric. Really great.

TheOnlyUkeThatMatters - Manhattan - Cat Power: Well, you certainly never disappoint (even as I feared this would be finally the be the week you couldn't overcome Paperwork Mountain.) A lesson in the power of simplicity here. Beautifully delivered. What are you using to tap in the heart rhythm section?

UkeCan1 - If I Only Had The Nerve - Arlen/Harberg: Man, that Yip Harberg was a hell of a lyricist! Thanks for bringing this last minute gem, Wendy.

And with that little Sunday night flurry, that's a wrap.

Double check the playlist to make sure you're thee, and if you haven't yet told me about official entries, let me know. I'll have decisions made in a day or two.

Thanks everyone!

Meow.

Only wish I could have participated more in this season. Were all about cats here and have done rescue many summers. I know it's late but here's one for the litter box. I wrote a second version for people who don't like cats (:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oEd-7x5zpY

Lyrics for the second version are as such...

C
Her name’s Daisy
E7
Eyes of three
A7
Never know where she will pee
D7 G7 C G7
Has anybody seen that cat?

C E7
Get the hose, scratched my nose
A7
Mister how far can you throw?
D7 G7 C F C
Has anybody seen that cat?

E7
Now if you run into some of her poo
A7
Covering your furniture
D7
Tie her to a rocket, zing!
G7
Betcha’ life, that cat’s got wings

C
No, she’s not loved
E7
She’s wicked too
A7
Lock that kitty in a zoo
D7 G7 C
Has anybody seen that cat?

In case not everyone has seen/heard it, here's a very different version of the song with beautiful pictures of large cats.

Thanks, Thunderflea. Now I'm listening to that whole Paul Anka "Rock Swings" album, which is pure comedy gold. Reminds me of Richard Cheese.

Thanks, everyone, for a great season! I was so pleased to see everyone bring their A game this week -- even in the face of a potentially loathsome subject. (I know how some people feel about cats, believe me.) But Bess and Tink and Beckett and I had a great time watching all of your videos. There were tons that stuck with me, but I did narrow things down. So, my favorites were as follows (If you missed any of these along the way, you can click through right from this post!:

1st: The Ukelites - Stray Cat Strut (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnY38HedDqQ)
This was the cat's pajamas, guys. So smooth, so polished, and a rockin' good time. Purrfect.
2nd: TCK - Lovecats (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6rYaA3U5-o)
This reminded me of something I might stumble upon after midnight flipping channels on an old black and white set when I was a kid. I LOVED it.
3rd: erivel (and Cave) - Jack and Diane (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHpkuTEAL9w)
This is easily the most fun with two ukes that is currently allowable by law.

Honorable mentions (in no particular order):
• OnlyUkeThatMatters - Manhattan (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3zxVAEVV_s)
• Peewee - The Leopard (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRmcJyGhQ4o)
• Ivan the T and Pa - Sad Lisa (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZR-KGVJ-ds)
• Markwo - Everybody Wants To Be A Cat (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOIHNxxS44w)
• Decaturcomp - Stray Cat Blues (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWLsSm8TXAo)

And I want to give a little extra love to those who paid tribute to their fallen feline heroes:
• UkeCan1 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QR6GtQhb6s)
• Ohmless (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOlC_Ywt-FQ)
• CeeJay (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stXwdxtChGY)

Ukelites, TCK, and erivel, PM me addresses and what size uke you'd like a new set of strings for (and if you'd prefer a Low-G set).
