Never mind. I just realized this is just a cuatro tuning down a step. Not used to being up this late anymore. Can a mod please delete or lock this thread please? Thanks.

Don't delete it, Cap!

You're right - this is a Cuatro tuning down a step, but that puts it in the Key of C ( g c' e' a), so it's a very nice set-up for those wanting a bit deeper tone that you get from a linear C.

We make sets for this for typical Baritone scales, where the deeper tone is a nice option for a C tuning on the bigger Baritone body. Here's Nipper from the Night Owls using that set-up as for the rhythm instrument in their group (rhythm solo @ 3:18):

it does seem to drone a touch more than high reentrant but it's a nice sound that's definitely not ukulele sounding. I have a pack of southcoasts sitting around but my bari is still wearing a set of worth browns that i shuffled around into cuatro. I would play mine more but i still don't like the baritone scale.
