This is a tough one to part with, but I’m still reducing my ukes collection. So, here for sale is a gorgeous 2012 Pu’uwai tenor. This uke is the total package with sound and looks.

Here’s the specs:

5A Dark, hard Figured Koa top, back and sides
Ebony Wood binding with burgundy purfling on top
Ebony fretboard , bridge and endstripe/endgraft
Lightweight Gunmetal finish Grover tuners w/ ebony buttons
Spanish Cedar neck with carbon fiber truss rod
Side Soundport
Amazing Amboyna Burl headstock veneer and rosette
Hardshell case.

Pu’uwai ukuleles are built by Woodley White, past-President of the Big Island Ukulele Guild. This hard, dark figured Koa is tonally awesome and worth the upgrade. It has volume to spare and rich and complex tones, with sustain, clarity, and projection. It’s loud, but loud in a sophisticated way. It has a warm tone, yet excellent clarity in reentrant tuning.

This is a gorgeous tenor, and while in excellent condition, has a little wear, particularly on the Peghead side, heelcap, and bottom binding edge. There are just a few tiny nicks, too. Somehow a little bit of buffing compound residue was left on the heel cap. Woodley’s current base price is $2,500 without the higher grade 5A Koa upgrade and Amboyna Burl options.

This uke is also described here: http://www.dreamukes.com/2012/12/2012-puuwai-woodley-white-tenor-ukulele/

I’m asking $1250 + shipping.

I have one of these, and Woodley builds an outstanding instrument, as Hodge says. This is a really good price for a first-rate ukulele.

That's a great looking uke and a good price. Just bought a new uke and the wife would kill me if I bought another. Good luck with the sale.

I was lucky to get to play this uke when visiting Hodge a while back. Love that B tuning, it's a superb player. This is an outstanding price.
