Hi,
I have a sopranino uke with a 29cm scale and I'm keen to try it tuned an octave higher like the iUke is.
Aquila make a set of strings for the iUke (which has 26cm scale length) and I'm wondering if anyone has already tried this or has any thoughts on this?

Why do I want to do this? Because I want C tuning and a) I find the string tension too slack for my tastes and b) I'd like the sound to be different when playing in an ensemble.

Cheers
Ed

I think this guy uses strings from a tenor. There are hints in the video description on youtube.

Sounds good in C but I have sopranos for that.

i put worth CHs on my sopranino and the tension seems just fine to me. they intonate very well too.

You may want to see this. This guy uses different tuning for the tension of iUke strings maybe a bit too high for his sopranino.
