Thanks for the heads up! :shaka:
I am surprised that as of now , there are no other replies to this thread
Also from that page on Apogee's site they have their 'Black Friday deals' (
http://store.apogeedigital.com/store/index.php/black-friday-2014.html)
which include:
- the Apogee
MIC, normally $199, refurb on sale for $129
- the Apogee
ONE for iPad and Mac, normally $349, refurb on sale for $249
(and a few others)
sale ends
TOMORROW December 2nd, so if you want an Apogee device, these prices are the best I've ever seen.
I've been deliberating this all weekend, and just cant decide for myself.
The
Apogee MIC is great if you have multiple ukes that you want to use for recording, but dont want to put a pickup in each uke (it's also A LOT cheaper than getting a Mi-Si or Five.O installed in each instrument)
Fellow UU brother Olarte has many excellent videos posted here on the forum/youtube using this equipment that you can see/hear for sound demos.

For those just starting out with recording, and/or wanting a SIMPLE setup, the Apogee MIC and JAM are considered the top-of-the-line.
For myself, I am leaning towards being able to do stereo recording via X-Y or ORTF mic set up, so unless there is a magical way to use two Apogee MICs with the iPad, I am probably looking at something else to fill my needs...
