I've found my go-to favorite, most used tool in uke building isn't my fancy router or my expensive German cam-clamp (way over priced if ask me), but the humble 6 inch ruler I got at the the hardware store on sale. Glue squeeze-out scraper, small shim, fret level gauge, ear scratcher, middle finder, fine measuring device, etc. etc.
I find I use the metric side and less so the inch scale. The only thing that would make this humble little tool better would be a metric scale and a tenth of an inch scale on the other side instead of fractions.
Is this the best tool in the shop or what? Cost: $3.95 and that was bit expensive.
