I'm right handed, but when i play I hit different parts of my ukulele with my thumb to add percussion. The area to the left of the sound hole is getting chips and dents from my thumbnail hitting it. I know some would say they're love marks, but I get kind of rough with it and I'm worried that I'm going to beat a hole in it. I can't find anywhere that sells ukulele pick guards. Does anyone have any tips? I need a left handed one.

take a look at Willie Nelson's guitar, and decide if it really matters.

You might consider a transparent pickguard which won't affect the instrument cosmetically like a regular one would. Elderly has some. They would need to be cut down to uke size, however.

Another way you could go is to use a tortoise shell like material. Have a look at this example ( http://www.maurysmusic.com/inc/sdetail/greven_d_28_light_pickguard___clearance/13243/55977 . Although this particular one is for a large guitar, they come as sheets which can be cut down to whatever size and shape you want. The material is gorgeous and comes in varied patterns. I put one, after being reshaped by a Luthier, on a parlour guitar.

You must have a very expensive uke to worry so much.. buy a clear adheisive guard ..thin like tape
