I cannot stay down for long... Just scored two tickets for the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain for April 22nd.

3 hours away in New Hampshire, but oh so worth it! I've been trying to catch them for the last few years. Only one seat left in Boston. It will be a nicer drive and setting in NH anyway...

And this is a week before we head out to Reno for the annual Reno Ukulele Festival!!!

I better start strumming more! Wooohoo!

Info on these events are at

I also highly recommend the book "get plucky with the ukulele" which is a new book written by a member of the UOGB Will Grover-White.

We saw them last year. It's a great show.

Ivan, I've got seats for the Burlington show the prior night - I think I'm in row 8 or something.

Really looking forward to it.

The way they were selling tickets for the Boston show was Stupid. Sales weren't open before December 1, UNLESS you bought a 3 show package, and then the cost was ridiculous anyway.

The tickets at UV Burlington were reasonable, available, and making the purchase was quite pleasant.

And Burtlington is no farther from us that Boston, but closer than New Hampshire- also less expensive than the New Hampshire venue. (g)

Ivan, you should take an extra day if you're up in Hanover to see some sites. Close-by are Quechee Gorge, Augustus St. Gaudens National park &l artist's museum, the Harpoon Ale brewery tour, and if you want, I'll give you JD Salinger's house address in Cornish (not kidding), plus the Windsor-Cornish covered bridge and, if a clear day, a lovely drive to the top of Mount Ascutney, where you can see it all from above. These are all less than 30 miles from Hanover. (Highlight and right click anything on the list of interest to Google the official websites; someone who kept moving could see all of it in one long day). :)

Thanks for the tips we are going early and staying overnight so will be sightseeing as much as we can.

And yes I meant the Official/Original UOGB Ukulele Orchestra Of Great Britain.

I forgot about the other one that has popped up recently.
