I'm building a cradle to hold my ukes for binding, sanding, etc and could use some help. A thing with 4 slideable cauls in slots holding the upper and lower bouts tightly. Surprisingly little on the web about this. Pictures would be nice. Nothing elaborate please.

Thanks

You can make your own with an MDF base and your own purpose built cauls. Google "adjustable guitar mold" and you'll have no end of examples to draw from.

I've seen large dowels used with a hole drilled through them off center and bolt through from the underside of the base, so that the dowel can be turned to take up the slack between dowel and uke body. Wrap them in cork to increase grip and help not marr the uke.

Thanks all. I'm gonna go with something like this... but different. Simple no? I would radius the cauls a little and line with cork is all.

PS: That is one beat-up guitar. Note it is being held together with what looks like packing tape or something...
