Hey everyone, im relatively new to the forums and i love the amount of people here xD i have a Kala KA-T and the surf fluke. I bought my Kala in early August of 2008. Now I'm wondering if I should change my strings because when i play on the 12th fret of the C string, it makes this horrific noise. But any other fret is perfectly fine and i tested all the other strings, they're in good shape (they're aquila strings).

So what's the issue with it/should I be getting new strings?

Thanks in advance =D

yeah its a buzz but you cant even hear the tone of it. its just a complete fail noise.

Is there a problem with your fret being worn or damaged there? or the next fret up (13th for Rei-Uke or 7th fret for 1014) coming up/loose? If the strings look worn at those frets, I guess I'd say change them. If the 12th fret is the body fret, maybe a bump at the joint. It happens in Mandolins sometimes.
