Wooden Ukulele Pegs

An oddly entertaining video. I actually watched it all the way through. Gives me a new appreciation of tuning pegs... Not sure I would actually want to make a hundred of them though...

I used to turn my own Pegs but it was taking me longer than it was worth. Nor did I have enough demand to start making templates/jigs to get it so that it was an efficient practice. It was a bit of fun whilst I was doing it. Now I just buy them from the Lute maker Bruce Brooke, who makes some mighty fine Pegs. I've even had him make some done to my specific design and all at what I consider to be a very reasonable price.
There are cheaper of course (mainly from the far east) but they aren't quite up to the level that he makes them at. The Pegs made in the far east for Violin type instruments usually are done to a high level but those are a long established industry.
Avoid ebony for wooden friction Pegs. There are better choices.
