I picked out a Concert Uke for my dad (70 years old) over the summer. It was his first instrument and he's really been enjoying it. He even has gone so far as to make his own baritone from scratch...

He is looking for a lower/bass sound then he can get with a Concert sized body and is interested in the Baritone.

I think his budget is probably right around $200.00 or so. He of course wants a hard case for it as well.

Thanks.

You should be able to find a Lanikai or Kala baritone in your price range. Both companies are competitively priced, and offer good value. I've sampled both brands, belonging to club members. They play and sound good.

I have a baritone Kala. If I remember correctly it was just over $120 locally. It stays in tune and looks nice. I'm no expert on the finer points of a uke -- but it seems a good uke for a moderate price.
