Pics of ebony or African black wood slide in saddles. Absolutely works great!

I'll plead ignorant...how does this fix intonation problems?

I'll take a guess. The original saddle is the worn ridge supporting the new shinny saddle, so the scale length has been lengthened by the thickness of the new saddle. I've made drop-in bone saddles like this (the slot filled by the support piece with the back extension sitting on the bridge itself) to correct the intonation of classical guitars. I haven't a clue what the second picture is, but somehow it reminds me of an "Aliens" movie.

The second picture looks like the bridge on my plastic TV Pal uke -- with a little strip of wood added just like the first picture.

I must admit that I have been staring at these pictures for 10 minutes and can't figure how the two are related except it appears to be dusty where ever it is. Perhaps Dismount will enlighten us as to what the second picture shows. A lot of work went into that for sure....
