Just kicking it around in my thoughts -- Im not sure what I would buy, how about some opinions..............

Koaloha..........even I had to find 84.00 more dollars:p

A KoAloha - although I like other brands also, for $1000 it is my favorite in that price range. I prefer its tone, volume and customer service/warranty.

Well, without narrowing any attributes (e.g., bling or bling-less, fretboard width, radius or not, wood type, body style), etc. it's a wide-open list. Spending close to $1k without going over, here are a few I would consider:

Covered Bridge
Pono Pro Classic
Romero Creations
Entry-level K brand

I'd also consider buying a higher dollar, used uke.

Fess up, did Santa fill your stocking with $?

I think i'd look at a tiny tenor and pocket $500.

If I wanted to spend most of it on a ukulele, a Pono Pro Classic.

If I wanted to be fun-loving, a Fluke and the balance buys the spouse something. Happy wife, happy life!

Koaloha for sure!

KoAloha for sure. In fact, a KoAloha Tenor happens to be next on my list. I'm only about $1000 short!

Well, if it had to be new, I'd buy a Kanile'a K1 tenor.

Used, I might be able to find a Compass Rose tenor, or a Nazareth built Martin tenor, or a Boat Paddle for $1,000 or under.

I'd put it towards a Black Bear, Pohaku or Ono. Or possibly a Barron River or Big Rusty or or or.... :p

I'd scour the boards for a used 8 string Kamaka . . .

Another vote for Boat Paddle. Real excellent value for money from a one-man custom operation.

Say, has anyone seen that $1000 I lost somewhere around here?

I would probably go right to the Mim, Uke Republic, and HMS sites. Pretty much anything from them would be good in that price range - right now it looks like Imua, Lo Prinzi, and Kanilea are closest to $1,000. I would probably go with the Uke Republic Lo Prinzi at $899 and get a hard case.

But, I would likely kick in another $50 and get the KoAloha Koa tenor from HMS.

I'm a soprano. I would likely put it towards a Martin 3 Cherry.

Try my damndest to find a used boat paddle bari..
