A local luthier, Paul Joaquin, is just in the process of finished a lovely mango soprano uke for me. And I am just in the process of packing for a trip to Hawaii. We leave this Sunday, the uke should arrive on Saturday.

Is there any reason I should not take this particular, just-born, uke on the trip?

Because then you won't have an excuse to buy one while you're there?

But, what else I'm wondering is whether the just made uke would be more sensitive to temperature changes, for example. Would the instrument benifit from some 'resting time' allowing its bits to 'cure'?
