Last Monday the u-bass player for the uke group to which I belong, CC Strummers in Culver City California, told me he will not make it to rehearsal Thursday. I'm the substitute bass player so I had to bone up on the songs we're doing for a show on the 18th, 20 songs, wow!
Being that I just started playing the bass a couple of months ago, I had a fair amount of trepidation. I spent late Monday, all Tuesday and Wednesday working at it, and almost to my surprise, today turned out pretty well. Granted I stuck with 1-5 most of the time, although for a few songs I varied a bit, but I got compliments all around, so I'm very happy.
