I posted thread about looking for a new uku that is good for SMALL HAND. I received many recommendations from all of you. Just thought I let you know what I ended up with:
I just came back from Honolulu and brought home a Kanile'a Honu Premium Concert with the turtles inlay. ($1,360 U.S.). No deal here !Aaron from Hawaii Music Supply said first week in January is a bad time to shop , they sold everything over the holiday and uku builders have not had time to re-stock.
Below is Youtube showing Aaron playing on my uku. Yes that's my uku. I filmed Aaron playing with it.
For now, the uku don't seem to have a lot of volume but the sound should open up overtime. (I hope).
I met Joe and Kristen Souza (owner and founder) when I visited the Kanile'a factory. They gave me a license frame that says 'I would rather be playing my Kanile'a Ukulele'. Super friendly couple. Kanile'a put a lot of attention to details.
