Hi all,

I just fell in love with the ukulele ;)

But I am in Montreal, Canada, where it is difficult finding good ukes...

I have decided to select good brands to get some nice instruments to guys like me up here ... guys who are looking for more then just a toy like what I found in the stores...

I already have Kala.

I was told that PONO and KIWAYA could be a good choice...

What do you think?

Any other made in america brands I should consider?

thanks!

Made in America brand? I'd have to reccomend Fluke. Solidly built ukes, very loud, functional, and durable. Maybe a bit expensive for what they are (half made of plastic, and sort of look toy-like), but I'd say that they're very good ukes.

Ponos are also a good value uke for solid wood ukes.

And if you're looking for a few high end ones, you really can't go wrong with Kamaka or Kanilea or KoAloha.
