Everybody knows that the heat, cold, sun, etc. effects tuning. I've notice alcohol seems to stabilize tuning. You start playing, and precisley tune up after each song. After a couple drinks, you strum it once and it sounds perfect after playing for an hour. Why is that? What is that phenomena called?

Beer ears? Like "beer goggles"?

Playing the banjo. :)

and don't let that Piper over there hear you either....uh oh ....

I play, too (well, dabble really). How does one keep their guitar from being stolen? Put it in a banjo case. :)

It isn't just instruments, drinking also seems to improve my ability and willingness to sing 10 fold.

I noticed folks tip more after they had a few. One time we were playing on the street and this guy comes out of a bar and gives us a nice tip. We had just arrived, got set up and were tuning our ukes, had not played one song yet. I was thinking, this is going to be a good day!
